We would have signed Sanchez for sure if the Rags dint pay him as much as they did. I think Messi would have come as well but the Grealish signing took it out of question.
With regards to Barcelona and Messi, Barcelona had no option with their wage structure. They couldn't even afford Messi, who was ready to take a 50% pay cut. Recent results are great but they still got kicked out of CL and only achievement this season would be a top 4 finish now. Their scatter gun approach has stuck for now but I would wait until next season before really bigging them up. With their finances and state they have signed too many players. Not sure how they could afford it either. They have forced a lot of their players to take a wage cut, which is going to increase probably next season.

Their expenditure cap set by la liga is negative, -€193m I think. Still screwed for a while.

Reading all of this, if the club decides we bring in Haaland and Alvarez while moving on from Sterling and Gabby does that make Txiki and Pep ungrateful cunts? I'm not saying what my opinion is...I'm simply asking the question...
Ha yes - perhaps they've become "miserable old gits", forgotten that we're the best run club in football, in it for the long-haul, leave it to the people running the club (them). Get behind Sterling and Gabby.

Thats the point. Our best admin team do not overpay. They have made much more good decision than wrong ones.
In another point i genuinely believe money was not the only reason we did not go after messi even after we knew his availability and kane was not coming. Similarly barca could have done more to resign messi. I think they were not 100 percent commited to resign messi. I think at the back of their mind they thought that they would be better off without messi.
Barca were in negative, deep deep negative situation. At present (at least) they are moving towards zero. That itself is a positive until they go above zero.

TBF To lisbon just loudly saying city were in for mendes eventually got PSG to get Mendes so why wouldn't they do it again.

This guy probably ends up at Newcastle or United or something.

Rumours that Hakimi wants to leave PSG because ‘the South American’s don’t talk to him’.

It obviously sounds like bollocks but they seem a mess at the moment with all the Neymar stuff yesterday then the fans turning on Messi too, Mbappe leaving, Poch’s future uncertain, out of the CL etc. so wouldn’t surprise me.

I love Walker like every other blue so not sure it’s of any relevance to us but still, a big name player maybe on the market.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a Conte link up at Spurs given them winning the league together with Inter - he’d be perfect wherever Conte goes really.
