It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Pep wanted Sanchez, Maguire etc. Our manager is one of the greatest of all time but he's not infallible. For a guy who is barely going to feature this is too much. For a similar price we can bring in someone like de Jong, and before anyone retorts with the "he's not a DM," he can play DM at an exceptionally high level. As well as a number of different midfield positions.

I'll back the club, but I think this is a mistake.
What are the wages likely to be for de jong?

I think we’d sign rice, James, Bellingham and Kane if we could
Pep seems to really love the English game
I think he feels we have the players amd he can mould them
Shame Southgate is in charge

For sure. I also think that signing English players generally means that they're unlikely to leave until you don't want them anymore. Big contrast to the likes of Leroy, Torres, and now Bernardo. There's always the risk with continental players that at some point they have a desire to leave.

It is a very good time to buy English players as there are a lot of top ones around.

I have a feeling that Pep has his sights on managing England … hopefully in quite a few years time.

ya that's a very fair point

I think the fact most of these players are at villa, Leeds, West Ham, dortmund. Spurs etc means they are attainable
And they all really want to come

He did. If you go back it was talkativesprout who quoted mr mertles post that had the fjortoft tweet and tagged the "15" photo
I get it, I just don’t see how you can misconstrue what Fjortoft said, therefore I replied about the number 15 shirt.

Perhaps I’ll stop trying to help people if they’re going to be cunts about it.

Well he's currently on about 400k a week and since he's being forced out of Barca you'd think for him to go minimum he'll want the same, but probably a pay rise of some description. City just aren't that stupid. As talented as he is, he isn't KDB or Foden or Haaland. He simply doesn't have the talent to warrant a wage that big.

Maguire under pep would have been completely different. He was really good at Leicester and i think would have been great for us.

Stats in percentile, the higher the number the better you are in comparison to the leagues/players measured against.

Percentile 99 = top 1% of players
Percentile 1 = Bottom 1% of players
Take a sorted vector of observations u(i=1 to n) with weights w(i = 1 to n) or weights each equal to one if the sample is unweighted.

Then find i = the first index point that is larger than pn, where p is the proportion of the quantile and n is the sample size.
