It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

I actually think Phillips has got a decent range of passing. He loves a big diagonal in behind opposition full backs. Suspect it's one of the major reasons that City want him.
Seriously, if people had done any kind of homework on Phillips they'd know his long passing is first-rate. Too many ignorant people on here talking bollocks.

I think we think he has potential
We are a far better team than Leeds and we obviously want to add his qualities to our already top level team
He is also super fit if you take out the injuries

The other thing with him is that he's strong enough to be very press resistant and he's learned under Bielsa to have a quarterback type of vision with his passing. There's a few decent compilations on YouTube which show a lot of this, but it was also evident when he played against City and in his England performances.

I’ve come to the conclusion that we know what we are looking for and scout very well - I mean look at rodri now, pure class
People tend to look for the team they are signed from (Leeds) and think they are shit
We also sign players with hunger and desire to win things
If we sign him he will be class

Spot on. Especially the last 2 lines. Being hungry to play for City is one of the major intangibles that I suspect we look for in players.

With Phillips, and I felt the same way in when people talked about Kane last summer, there's a bit of tribalism that creeps in. Everyone prefers the exotic foreign player rather than the 'known' fella from the league. In all the players that we signed from other PL teams, only Grealish bucked that trend. Walker, Stones, Sterling were all classed as over-priced, not worth it, not good enough etc.

He was commenting on a tweet from fjortoft saying that haaland and Bellingham will play in the same team again (it was a few pages back). The other poster mistakenly assumed he was talking about Jesus staying because haaland tweeted a pic with the number 15 so they were talking about 2 different things.

How would everyone feel if Jesus and Sterling both went to Chelsea, there's talk of it happening but I would be surprised if it came off. Not the worst rival to go to, but I'd prefer them to go abroad if we were to sell?

Very pissed off if either left. Especially to another English club.

I think we’d sign rice, James, Bellingham and Kane if we could
Pep seems to really love the English game
I think he feels we have the players amd he can mould them
Shame Southgate is in charge

I could, but I was commenting on Jan talking about Bellingham and Haaland possibly playing together again which has fuck all to do with Jesus. Hence the confusion.
So perhaps you should have quoted a post in which they were referencing Bellingham, rather than one with Haaland wearing number 15 as a kid.

Either that or rely on bluemooners being fucking clairvoyant.

He did. If you go back it was talkativesprout who quoted mr mertles post that had the fjortoft tweet and tagged the "15" photo
