It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Alvarez < Sterling (although Alvarez will eventually surpass Sterling).

Sterling was 2 years younger than Alvarez when we paid nearly £50m for him - and that was prices 7 years ago. He's scored 130+ goals, and has nearly 100 assists.

Alvarez could be a very good player, but to suggest he'll surpass Sterling is a huge, huge statement.
It’s unlikely that Alvarez will surpass Sterling’s prime but I’m comparing the current versions of the players. Alvarez definitely has the potential to be better than last season’s version of Sterling. It’s a similar case between Phillips and Fernandinho.

Imagine all you want about extreme examples, I rather deal with reality
I wish you would because the reality is that he has never played outside Argentina so you just don't know, you are guessing. If you knew you would be an extremely sought after scout.

While I know nothing about this kid, why buy him and not use our own academy players? People keep saying Palmer is ready or thar it's a big ask to replace Sterling, and it might be, but until Palmer gets decent game time we'll never know.
It seems Sterling has made his mind up his time here is done, be it this summer or next. Surely its better to get money for him now and use Palmer more, than lose him for free. Felix, Nkunku and the names being mentioned have all one thing in common they at some point were thrown in at their respective clubs from academies. We have youth teams and U23s who win as often as the first team, so let's start giving these boys ago! Ajax and the rags did it in the 90s, barca in the 00s/10s. We've already found one in Foden given a chance maybe a couple more can step up.
I think Palmer will get game time in PL. Strikes me as the type of person who will take his chances.

City still need to scout players for all positions, as we are not a club that stands still.

Got a feeling Alvarez be better and more clinical than both of them put togther. His finishing is miles better than both already
Yeah he's great at scoring against mid table Peruvian teams. Let's wait until he plays in a half decent league before we make out he's the real deal

if Sterling and Jesus leave they may well do what they did with cancelo left year with foden and play him left or right depending on the situation with other players fitness, injuries or tactical
