It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

I realise you are talking to Domalino and I’m sure he will reply but imagine ( to take an extreme example) that you watch a Sunday league team live and one player is brilliant…stands out a mile. He is signed by a conference side and is completely outclassed.

I have high hopes for Alvarez at City but he has proved zero. He has a chance.
Agree. I follow Argentina in football (my mums from there) so I am more bias when it comes towards Argentinian players, but even I can see that he has proved nothing in the PL so can't be compared to any PL players, let alone one as distinguished as Sterling, who walks into most top teams 11.

It's not even fair on Alvarez to have these kind of expectations and we don't even know if he'll adapt to living in England away from family.

If I was to compare him to anyone regarding where City view him it would be to Palmer (who I rate extremely high).

dont like at all all these rumours of players leaving.
Jesus, Bernardo, Sterling,Zinchenko, Ake...

Grealish will deffo bring in the numbers, he leaked in that area first season, at least in assists he has to deliver big.
If players had taken a half of the chances Grealish created, he would have been in double figures for the season

City linked with winger who is a Sane doppelgänger. Left footed, plays on the Right, similar to Palmer and Mahrez mould.

Alverez: Great movement and a stunning sense of where the goal is and doing the unexpected to beat a keeper. He's not SA player of the year for nothing.
More on my opinion - Think Thomas Muller in the modern game and you will be just about there. Left, right, false nine, striker - the perfect Pep player. Not much learning to do either as River Plate try to play a similar game to us. The only thing he's not that good at is heading the ball.

Imagine all you want about extreme examples, I rather deal with reality

Interesting Athletic article- city have known for a year the possibility of both Jesus and Raz potentially leaving

It seems obvious today - but that's a big chunk. Personally , am excited about our new look city. It is what it is , IF players want to leave - you can't force them to stay and city don't do that .

While I know nothing about this kid, why buy him and not use our own academy players? People keep saying Palmer is ready or thar it's a big ask to replace Sterling, and it might be, but until Palmer gets decent game time we'll never know.
It seems Sterling has made his mind up his time here is done, be it this summer or next. Surely its better to get money for him now and use Palmer more, than lose him for free. Felix, Nkunku and the names being mentioned have all one thing in common they at some point were thrown in at their respective clubs from academies. We have youth teams and U23s who win as often as the first team, so let's start giving these boys ago! Ajax and the rags did it in the 90s, barca in the 00s/10s. We've already found one in Foden given a chance maybe a couple more can step up.
