He actually became friends with him after meeting him at a fan event in Turin many years ago. He is now a lifelong Italy/Juve fan due to Chiellinis affiliation with each. He turned his back on City many years ago when we refused to sign him for the 7th season running. He even wrote the club letters to request his signing and sent them a scouting report for 4 years running. Because with patience and the knowledge that your £60 will get you more for your money at the next stop?we left ourselves short at CF for 2 years, DM for 2 years, center back for a season and left back for 9 seasons.

It’s akin to driving a long journey and only putting enough fuel in to just about get you there and keeping the £60 in your wallet rather than filling up, even if you’ll just have to do it later on (next season) anyway.
