It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

That's absolutely sickening to think about.
Goals: 106
Appearances: 316
Assists: 54

That is a magnificent return, Sterling is probably the most frustrating player I have ever seen wear our shirt but what a contribution he has made and incredibly the stats should and could be far better if he was more consistent in front of goal.

His time with us may well be coming to a end, probably in both parties interest but to slag the guy off is incredible and to compare him with Grealish at this stage is insulting to Raheem.

So many sporting and financial experts in this thread. If even our fans have these skills, then it is truly understandable why we are the decade's outstanding sports team, with unparalleled growth in trophies and business over the decade. We are truly blessed.

Hardly given value for money at this moment, and I would wager the people who gave him the contract would happily take a refund if they could!

Grealish has simply not performed at anywhere near the level expected, settling in is an issue but it's high time he was contributing more.
I think you would lose that bet then. I'm sure the club have more patience than some fans and will look at ROI in a more realistic timeframe

Not so sure, after the recent derby in which Grealish was superb he has sadly gone backwards, in the most important period of the season he is contributing little, he has SO far been a major disappointment.

I think people need to be patient with Grealish. He's not had a great 1st season but neither did Rodri, Cancelo, Mahrez who were all big money signings. We signed him on long term deal to see the benefits over the course of the contract so let's see how he does next year and the year after. He's not going anywhere.

Sterling is a frustrating player but I think he's a winger that plays better with a striker. His best seasons where when he had Aguero to play to -17/18 and 18/19. If he does stay let's see how he performs with Haaland there. If he does go he goes with my best wishes. He's been good for us and is always a player that runs his bollocks off.

I just think there's a certain element on here that believe their wives/girlfriends would bone Jack and it creates a bizarre hostility...
are you trying to imply my wife would leave a council house in Stockport and her marriage to a 52 year old aging ex alcoholic for a multimillionaire young good looking athlete? You my friend are seriously underestimating the Talkative Sprout Kashmiri Chicken Masala and my cheeky patter.

he's also not starting every game so it's stop start for him give him time let's hope next season he's better but i think we should support all our players just my opinion

This ^^^^

That's an incredible return from a winger. The issue with Sterling is a mental one. He's an instinct player who's in need of psychological assistance to overcome this major issue. Pep alluded to this back in October where he said Sterling's issues were mental.

Given time to think, Sterling becomes indecisive which leads to him losing the ball, playing a meaningless back pass, a poor attempt at a goal or an assisted pass. This is what he has to learn to overcome.

When in a situation where events are happening too quick to think about it, he generally makes the right pass or has an attempt on target.

I can't imagine City don't know this & aren't continually working on it, but regardless, Sterling's stats for a 27 year old Premiere/Champions League winger are astounding.

I trust City will know what to do for the club & the player... )(
