Great player, he'd have been great where Gundo was in this system. Not the engine Bernardo has, but we'll adjust.
Phil has though?

Pretty sure it's 400 grand a week. As per contract. He's on a pay cut right now but all that money is still owed to him ~17 mil eurosDe Jong's on £220k/week, we won't get someone like Paqueta on much less if we're buying him for €60m.
doesnt have the tempo control, still wants to play at a million miles an hour. Great up top, not so much in the middle. He'll learn though.Phil has though?

If the 2020 deal does get annulled, surely Barca would owe FDJ more money as his salary would revert to the higher weekly salary, wouldn’t it?
Really want to see those as an 8 pair in a game this season. Jack - Control, Foden - Rampageyeah he would be an option where grealish has control but not the fitness of Foden! lol
I feel like there could be a really good deal made if this is left alone for a few more weeks.
Similar to how we got Dias for 25m cheaper because Benfica failed the CL qualifier, if there was a team De Jong wanted to play for (ie not United), leave this financial mess to get worse for Barcelona and then offer them a really cut price to get rid of him.
I just don't think there is any interest in him though, as a signing. From all the Torres negotiations and payment agreement, their constsnt claims of interrat in Bernardo, and basically the whole summer of them trying to sell him, while we identified and went and signed all our intended targets bar LB, you would think if we were even remotely interested in bringing him here Something would have been looked at or come out by now.

He clearly wanted to stay at Barcelona, but presumably he will eventually reach a breaking point with their attempts to screw him over. Ornstein is talking about the Dutch Players Association and FIFPRO getting involved and Barcelona taking legal action over the contract being illegal.
Surely at some point you just say enough is enough, I'm out of here - if someone offers you an enticing landing spot.
You have to factor in that if Cucurella was at City, he’d spend more time attacking and those starts would be better than they were last season.Slightly better in *few aspects*
My point was Brighton sold a player of comparable calibre for twice as much money. So yes, they scammed Chessi hard but even we could milk some more cash out of Arsenal.
Good shout that. He’d probably want more game time than we could offer though?I feel like there could be a really good deal made if this is left alone for a few more weeks.

The wage Chelsea will throw at him will be just as ridiculous if its a cut price fee i expect.I feel like there could be a really good deal made if this is left alone for a few more weeks.

Ornstein: Barcelona threaten legal action over Frenkie de Jong contract
Barcelona have told the Manchester United and Chelsea target that they want him to revert a previous contracttheathletic.com
I think you’re confusing ‘cost’ with ‘worth’?Werner back to Leipzig on a permanent deal.
£160M worth of strikers Chelsea have let go this summer
I've read that this is in line with our policy of not going back in for players who've rejected us in the past. We went for him when he was leaving Ajax and he chose not to come, so they're not going back for him.I just don't think there is any interest in him though, as a signing. In defence of Laporte, he snapped his ankle that summer and decided he’d rather not move clubs whilst injured!I've read that this is in line with our policy of not going back in for players who've rejected us in the past. The only one we did do that for was laporte
