Okay you said a cheaper p/l proven player that doesn’t mind not playing every week. Bearing in mind they also need to be a ball playing centre back confident in a high line. Who can you think of thats ‘s available ?

You didn't. You said any player that costs big money, i.e Ake level money, was not on the cards. Which just isn't true.

If they don't cost big money, fucking great! We'd all be delighted. Reality is good players wil cost money and the club will look for good players and won't be limited by cooped terms like 4th choice and what that entails.

Ake was HALF the price Gvaridol is being quoted at.

Just fyi, I know absolutely nothing about Gvardiol. Saw the name linked with spurs and only noticed it becsuse of the similarity to Guardiola. I'm in now way arguing he is the one. Just the concept the club won't spend 40m (that you say is too much) on a player they consider right because they think he has to fit this 4th choice mould which has some set price bracket.

No you’re not, neither am I, but if I could think of a player that fits that criterion I throw the name in.All I do know is the club won’t put restrictions on themselves with the pre conceived ideas you are.
They will have a list of qualities needed for a centre back to play games in our first 11 regularly if called upon. They will put a value on that but my guess it would be around what we get for Ake, though it could be less, could be more. If Ake actually leaves which he may, hopefully not

I wouldn't. Partly because that's not why I engage, but mostly, because I don't know enough about other clubs' players other than some obvious big known names. When I ask, you or anyone, it isn't most often isn't in sarcasm kr to be dismissive, it is genuine interest as I assume people have someone in mind. Same when they say give it to an academy kid. I always think they know which kid they have in mind.
