It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

We don't need a left-back. Ake has made the position his own and signing Gvardiol would also be more than good enough, while also giving game time to Dias and Stones, should Laporte leave.
I’d be fine with Ake being one of 2 LBs. He’d be a good pairing with Rico. I think it would be a big mistake not to sign a more attacking minded LB. Would give Pep more options, and would also get more out of Grealish if he had an overlapping LB on the outside. When Kev is out we lack creativity, it would be great if at least one of our full backs could attack

To be honest I don't blindly trust the ITKs here unless corroborated by outside sources in the media. maybe he was indeed looking at a move here and exploring the place. but now he has to move form barcelona and not at his house in netherlands. maybe he saw the differnce between manchester and barcelona and then said never again to moving to manchester. what is clear now is he will not swap manchester for barcelona.
Have you got any links to where De Jong says he doesn't like Manchester and would never move here?

Gvardiol may be a better centre back, but he also very much ticks the left back box.It would be in no way a make do situation that we have been recently used to.

Exactly. He plays regardless.

Laporte moves on and Ake becomes the first-choice back-up to Dias and Gvardiol as the left-sided centre-back, same again for left-back.

All the permutations are covered.
