I don't disagree that it was a pipe dream or that they would never spend that money. The point still stands though that there is apparent interest in Phillips plus I'm not sure we are so keen on him we would be willing to spend stupid money. So that's Barca and Juve both trying to offload players that they gave large contracts to. Yet it's City that have inflated fees/salaries
If UEFA had any bollocks they’d do something about clubs offering contracts that they can’t realistically fulfill - this is particularly an issue where clubs offer ridiculous wages to secure free agents thereby they secure valuable assets almost by default. You wonder if Barca are presently trying to hoover up every decent free agent this summer - in the hope they can flog a few of them on 12 months later.
