Still would be a very cheap option and (Club Trained as well) and any better centre backs than Mee wouldn't accept the 4th centre back slot. Or if they did accept it would be more expensive than normal.
 
Ben Mee is a decent/good shout actually.. has always liked him, the way Burnley has played has done him no favours but Ive always thought he was a pretty decent footballer actually, left footed CB. City product. Wonder if he wants to go somewhere where he will play more though, he will only ever be a emergency option here and play minimally.

Dear god this is a new low :)
 
Ake played well last season and we would definitely need to replace him...going into the season with only 3 centre backs is a risk....as good as Rodri is and maybe Phillips can be we have seen in the past when putting DM's there that it aint as good...Rodri is slow turning back to his own goal (his only downside really)...no idea about Phillips to be honest.

The issue with Ake since his arrival have been his injuries....so he isnt fully reliable but last year he was getting better and better on the pitch everytime we played.

Replacing him with equal quality would be very hard but it would be risky not to.....as others have said Mbete looks ok but is a step down....Not sure he will make it at the very top where he would need to be to regularly play first team football. THB seems to have stagnated as well.
