It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Disappointing about Jesus (if true) but he is neither one thing or another and his squad place could be better served with a specialist player.Same with Sterling, another who doesn't quite cut it as either a winger or a striker.

Best all round if both reignite their careers elsewhere and allow us the oportunity to spend good money on two players that will consistently improve our 11.

Teams improved and evolved and he hasnt at the same rate for a myriad of reasons. Good player, Great lad, No massive loss for me.

Are these Jesus/Sterling reports coming from the usual bollox Twitter accounts or someone half reliable? No way both leave anyway unless someone else comes in

Doesn’t take a genius to see that Steffen doesn’t fit our system. I know our backup keeper won’t have the ball playing ability of Ederson but they should at least be comfortable with the ball at their feet. Whenever Steffen had the ball, I felt on edge.
Doesn’t take a genius who has watched Steffan play that he is more than comfortable to play in our system, one fuck up doent mean no one is good enough

Wouldn’t mine either Sterling or Jesus going. Both been ace for city for different reasons but I think we’ve seen the best of them. Alvares is one replacement but if we lost two and signed Nkunku/Leao I’d be happy.
I’d worry a little about the effect on the dressing room though, I think Raz is a massive figure in their and Gabby a very popular one.

If true it’d be nice to see him given a run of games as a forward. Sergio could go a few games without scoring with no threat to his place. Jesus is in the England cricket camp of perform NOW or you’re dropped!
He’s had plenty of chances tbf. There’s a reason why he isn’t trusted in the position he was signed for and Saturday’s latest one on one messed up was just another example of why

Oh yeah. He has really shown that in the games he has played for us. Guy is shit with his feet, and gets nervey as a result.

Did you watch the game on Saturday? Also, he cost us the FA Cup semi final the year before.

One bad game does not absolve the other he did in this season, very unfortunate the timing was not at the right time in important semi final match but he only just human.

You're asking the impossible wanting a backup as close in the quality as Ederson our main keeper, for the backup he the best we can get that willing to play a second GK where he could play elsewhere as main starter keeper.

Unless you want our club to pull PSG, paying absurd amount of money just to get a world class keeper as backup then forget it. There's more priority position that need to be strengthened first.

He’s had more than one bad game. It’s not that he’s a bad keeper - he’s just not good enough with his feet. I know we won’t get a backup keeper with ball playing ability remotely close to Ederson but our backup has to be decent with their feet, which Steffen is not. Bazunu on loan is free and looks very good from what I’ve seen. He is also decent with his feet. He’s first choice for Ireland above Liverpool’s second choice (Kelleher) so he’s definitely good enough to be our backup.

He is still young (Bazunu), i rather he get first team action elsewhere than be wasted as second GK next season.

An ideal second GK is just like Steffen in term of age range, an already developed GK which also been fine to be a second choice GK. You will be surprised that how many is willing to be a second choice GK like Steffan was. He has enough quality to be a main keeper team elsewhere but he rather choose stick to become a backup keeper for us.

Like i said you're asking the impossible, your criteria ideal for second choice keeper will rather be playing elsewhere than to be a second choice for us. Most of them (like 99%) believe they have enough quality to be a main keeper.
