It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Grealish going forward will be more valuable than Sterling...we can revisit this again down the road...

Its bizarre that people are defending Sterling's lack of quality by using Grealish as their weapon of choice.
The two players are at opposite ends of their City careers, and neither are they remotely alike in terms of style, contribution,or personality - The Cult of Raheem has taken on a new level entirely!
Raheem (27 years old)
15/16 11g 10a
16/17 10g 20a (1st w/Pep, everyone struggles;))
17/18 23g 17a
18/19 25g 17a (signed his extension Nov. 2018)
19/20 31g 10a
20/21 14g 12a
21/22 14g 7a

Grealish (26 years old)
15/16 3g 2a
16/17 5g 5a
17/18 6g 8a
18/19 6g 8a
19/20 10g 8a
20/21 7g 12a
21/22 5g 3a

G/A are in all competitions. Btw, I saw a post say Raheem’s had 2 good seasons at City and the rest have been average… LOL

My point about the wages was simply to compare what the players had done in their previous couple seasons to earn the big wages they are on because apparently Raheem’s wages are undeserved. If Raheem’s wages are undeserved, so are Jack’s. That was my point. I want nothing but the best for Jack. He’s a blue. I’m not rooting against him. Jack (like Raheem) should look better and improve his output with a center forward. However, you’re right they are not alike in terms of style, contribution, or personality so I don’t expect Jack to be more valuable (on the pitch) than Raheem has been for this club. And that’s perfectly fine.

It might also be worth considering how defensively teams play against us than 3/4 years ago. Grealish has also put plenty of chances on a plate for numerous players and the chances have been missed. I imagine if a striker was on the end of those chances, it would be an assist for Jack.
I’m not saying Grealish has been outstanding, but worth looking at the bigger picture.
teams played defensively against us in 18/19 as well.

Quick though on this comparing Jack first season on the wing to Bernardos.(probably the most comparable style wise than the rest?)

I agree , had his best season to date and people still want rid.

And want rafael Leao to replace him, fucking Rafael Leao hahahaha what is it with shiny new toys

anyway his mrs is pregnant and all her family are based in Cheshire I don’t think mahrez will be going anywhere.
Admittedly I've only seen a little of Leao, but he's not in the same league as Mahrez from what I've seen.

Perhaps others have seen summat I haven't...

mahrez finished his first season with 12 goals and 12 assists in 2500 minutes. grealish has 5 goals and 3 assists in 2400 so far. the fact people are comparing the 2 debut seasons is insane.
So is the repeated, nauseous interrogation of Grealish's every frigging move - he's doing alright and our team is top of the league and in the CL semi-final. Why on earth do we need to analyse him to death as if stats are the only judgement necessary?

I couldn't agree with this more. We have the greatest side this club has ever had and many would say the PL has ever seen. Yet many of our fans absolute rip Grealish, Sterling, Mahrez to shreds. If they were that bad, we wouldn't be close to the position we are in.

Grealish will have the second highest assists in the team next season. Watch him change when a striker comes in. He was in the top 3 for chances created and assists in his last season at Villa with a striker.

I think he'll become more noticeable as the 'calm' foot on the ball in the mid/forward line as we see less gametime of Gundo as well.

Kev, Sterling & Foden - up the tempo
Silva, Grealish & Mahrez - calm it down

nice balance in the mix

I dunno I think there might be a couple of tempting offers for Mahrez given age and contract situation. We don't seem in a particular rush to renew and unlike some of the others guys running down deals, he's on record wanting to stay and yet. and we could see offers of 30/40 odd.
