It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

mahrez finished his first season with 12 goals and 12 assists in 2500 minutes. grealish has 5 goals and 3 assists in 2400 so far. the fact people are comparing the 2 debut seasons is insane.

Stats tell half a story. Mahrez was very frustrating. I’m going to hazard a guess he was on some set pieces too. If numbers alone get you hard stick countdown on

There is a situation where we might possibly lose all three this summer, it’s the last summer City can get money for these players, Mahrez has a lot of clubs interested in him being the age he is City probably would sell if 40 to 50 mil was offered. PSG is the one I’d look out for according to French press they want Mahrez to replace Di Maria.

Gabriel Jesus is one foot out the door if you want to believe the reliable Arsenal sources I saw one that said they might offer 35 to 40 mil i think city accepts that. I also think he goes if we can’t promise him constant starts as it’s a world cup year.

Raz is the difficult one but AC Milan have concrete interest and want a Marquee signing Raz fits that Marquee signing for them. We probably wouldn’t charge them a huge sum either due to contract length. Barca have long standing interest as Xavi is a fan. If City came out and said Raz was for sale there would be a lot of clubs knocking on our door. He’s in really bad form but he’s still an England international/starter, that has a good goal scoring record throughout his career there would be interest from clubs in Europe.
Not having a go, but i don't understand these valuations.

If Mahrez is worth what you say, then why would we give Jesus away for such a low fee? He is a lot younger, has been playing for the best team in England and has a better workrate than the others mentioned. I don't get it.

Also, Sterling is an established City and England player, so i would expect at least our money back on him, even with one year left on his deal.
We paid a "premium" for Grealish because he was English and Raheem is twice the player he is, yet we will sell for half the price!

I know this is what's been speculated in the papers but for context, the same papers suggest Ivan Toney of Brentford, fucking Brentford, is worth £50m!

I don't like that we always seemed to get fleeced as a buying club, but have to give our players away if we sell.

For the record, If there was one player i'd keep out of those three it would be Jesus.

Football valuations aren't an exact science so fees are going to be all over the place till the end of time.

Jesus, Sterling and Mahrez are all coming to the end of their contracts. They have all been "ammortized" so any money we get back is money in the bank. You don't them all go for free and leave millions on the table.

Most top clubs in the world don't want Sterling or Jesus or perhaps even Mahrez so we are asking these three to take a step down in their career. For a club to even get close to tempting them they will need to offer big wages and not many clubs can do that whilst also paying us 50m.

I'm trying to work out why the first 10 row are £35 a year more expensive than the rest of the rows behind them. I guess i'm paying for the seats lost when they went double advertising boards pitchside

Not so sure, after the recent derby in which Grealish was superb he has sadly gone backwards, in the most important period of the season he is contributing little, he has SO far been a major disappointment.
I just think he's deferring to his teammates way too much...maybe he's worried about fitting in, not rocking the boat...at the same time pressing a bit, trying not to screw up...those of you on here saying the guy can't play gain very little credibility...let's see how he does as he climbs up the squad's pecking order...if the team were struggling and relying heavily on him I could understand some of the frustration...but we're a game from going back to the CL final and still the frontrunners in the league...people killing the guy non-stop...let the Reds' supporters knock our guys...who cares if your wife or girl wants to bang him...not like its really going happen...

Mahrez was known for being a goal scorer and creator, as well as leading Leicester to a premier league title. What is the relevance comparing him with Grealish?

they play in the same position, for start? opposite foot winger. up to the arrival of grealish, all of our wingers (mahrez, sterling, sane, foden, torres) were expected to chime in for goals and assists. for some reason that's not the expectation for grealish, and if you ask me, it's not because he's not expected to, but because he hasn't provided them.

Just curious...why do you think that is?
