Probably will be too many midfielders with Grealish hopefully moving deeper. I don’t think we’ll sign Bellingham and De Jong.

Haaland, De Jong and a LB with Fernandinho, Jesus and Gundogan leaving is what I think will happen. Sterling won’t extend and will have to run his contract down because no club can afford his wages. In 2023, we replace Sterling with Nkunku. Mahrez will probably stay a bit longer then be replaced with Palmer.

Most top teams have ageing players to do certain things.

Dippers have Milner, Madrid have Modric, Chelsea have Thiago Silva etc.

Even the rags are relying on a pensioner to get into the Europa League.

Agreed and the worry is we have a seriously competitive games probably 6 times a season, the rest of the time we cruise through in 2nd or 3rd gear.

These big games show up the weaknesses.
