That is certainly how it was reported, and why I've said only 1 or 0.1% chance, however I've always felt that if you could have automatic extensions as soon as someone hit 18 it would completely defeat the purpose of limiting u18 contracts wouldn't it?

The u18 deals are short to protect the kids, it means they can't get tied down past 20 for decisions made as a child. If you can have a 5 year extension triggered the day they turn 18 it's not really protecting them.

They announced Sancho extending 1 month after he turned 18...

Brilliant news about Rodri. We should sell Zinchenko for the right price although don’t think he’ll move right now because of what’s currently happening in Ukraine. Delap should get a higher end championship loan — he’s only ever experienced youth football and, despite being a big lad, don’t think he will deal with the physicality of the Premier League. If he’s banging in goals in the Championship, we can just loan him out to a different club mid season.
