I’m discussing squad spots.Alvarez replacing both jesus and ferran is a pretty big and bold assumption. I disagree but happy to see it happen.

By far the most comfortable LB we have imoZinchenko was instrumental in us winning the PL six days ago. Some of our supporters are incredibly harsh.
Palmer and Alvarez for Jesus and Ferran is my thought. So am I.
I think Cucurella is absolutely perfect fit for us, he presses very well he's lighting quick with a great range of passing and his crossing ability is amazing... What's not to like? Other than his hair.
I fully agree, Walker’s transfer divided opinions and he’s been incredible, yet right now we are imo over hyping Alvarez who is a completely unknown quantity. Both games against Brighton Cucurella was a standout player against the champions of England, something very little players do in the champions league never mind the premier league. There's a tendency to underrate players who are already in the league, and overrate foreign signings on Bluemoon. I'm not saying that this is what you're doing with Phillips and Cucurella, but I do think it's a touch unfair to say "no one wanted Phillips until the links started" and same with Cucurella. If you'd asked me a month ago who were the two players inside the league that I'd take this summer, those two would've been close to the top of my list.
Grealish was the exception that proves the rule last summer if I'm honest. Most people were dazzled by his profile and the fact he's a 'lad'. In general, from Walker to Stones to Raheem. Players we went after from inside the league have always underwhelmed Bluemoon. Just look at the absolute vitriol that Kane got from large swathes of this forum (some of still ongoing for some utterly bizarre reason).
Phillips and Cucurella will both turn out to be top signings IMO. I also think they won't need a season of transition as they're both coming from coaches who play very intense positional play football.
Personally I'm keen on the hair. We haven't had that kind of do in the group since when Leroy grew his fro out. Something about it completes the team for me.

Just to be abundantly clear, I’m not going to rush off to the club shop for my Phillips shirt either. This is a forum and it’s all about opinions. I was just calling out what I thought was arrogance. Also, I’m just not keen on slaughtering a guy before he turns up. I kind of get it in regards of an ex rag like Johnny Evans or Ronaldo for example.I'll be honest I still can't get on board with the Phillips signing. It's got nothing to do with him coming from Leeds. I appreciate we can't bring in another Rodri but the drop in quality from Rodders to Phillips is stark; he'd be a sufficient squad player but if he has to replace Rodri for any lengthy period of time that significantly weakens us in my opinion. By all accounts he won't come cheap now Leeds have avoided relegation, so I'd rather the club spend an additional £10-20mil on a midfielder with Pep DNA.
A poster previously stated there were zero recommendations for Phillips on this forum until we were linked, that sums it up for me.
BUT...it looks like it's happening so I hope Pep proves us wrong once again!
Yep, I was in favour of Walker, Stones, Sterling, Ake, I like Cucurella, but I'm disappointed that we had two years to prepare for Fernandinho's departure and the best we could come up with was Phillips. He's a decent but limited player, capable of doing a job, but represents a missed opportunity imo.I'll be honest I still can't get on board with the Phillips signing. Surely Rodri is the Ferna replacement so he was in affect replaced well before he left. The addition of KP is as a squad player??Yep, I was in favour of Walker, Stones, Sterling, Ake, I like Cucurella, but I'm disappointed that we had two years to prepare for Fernandinho's departure and the best we could come up with was Phillips. People also forget that it’s about adding qualities to the squad we don’t have so we can mix it upThere's a tendency to underrate players who are already in the league, and overrate foreign signings on Bluemoon. Can't see Phillips happening Injury prone and a headless chicken that can't pass
Sounds like a well rounded and fair assessment! Can't see Phillips happening Injury prone and a headless chicken that can't pass
We have Sterling,Mahrez,Foden and Grealish who will expect to play a lot next season. As purely names and numbers, maybe. As actual players, I just can't see it no matter how hard I try.
People argue replacing a departed fernandinho and mendy with phillips and cucurella makes us weaker. I think the above weakens us more, at least for a season to begon with.
I’d prefer a gravenberch signing to be honest, more pace and drive to go box to box but could be back up to rodders and also play along side from time to timeI'll be honest I still can't get on board with the Phillips signing. I’m not the guy’s biggest fan but he certainly isn’t a headless chicken, and he most certainly can pass a ball. Can't see Phillips happening Injury prone and a headless chicken that can't pass
