It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Do you mean from the PL to another European league? I’m not trying to be pedantic, but all those players have transferred from a European club to another European club….
The money is almost all in the UK.

16 of the top 30 richest clubs are in the PL, and the top transfer fees are even more concentrated in the PL.

In Europe, unless it's Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern or PSG, or possibly Juve want you, then there isn't the money there.

On transfermarkt, the 7th most expensive transfer in Serie A history is Hernan Crespo, he would only just scrape in at number 48 in the Premier League, and nearly half of those Premier League transfers have been in the last two seasons.

In Ligue 1, there has only been one transfer not involving PSG over £30m in the last decade!

Atletico Madrid have only spent over £30m three times in the last decade, and the last of those was Joao Felix - a complete outlier for them, as they just recycled the Greizmann fee Barca had paid.

Unless you've got the one player that the very biggest clubs are prioritising, then selling to another country in Europe means a much lower fee than we'd expect in the Premier League.

How many from the current players need their situation at the club sorted?

Cancelo
Laporte
Mahrez
Walker
Bernardo
Palmer
Perrone (loan likely)
McAtee (another loan)
Gomez ?

Surprised it’s been that quiet so far aside the Gundo exit, Kova signing. Gvardiol is getting done soon hopefully but seems there’s lots to be managed.

@tolmie's hairdoo Do we have any concrete links with wide players or attacking midfielders? Gvardiol, Bellingham, Rice, Veiga etc all been well documented, but only really heard flimsy rumours about Barcola and that Riquelme from Atletico.

I’m guessing the club has kept this quiet so as not to push the price up before/in case Bernie & Mahrez leave.

Unless, as you say, it’s any one of Real, Barça, Bayern, PSG, or Juve.

I’d also add both Milanese clubs to that - how much is Lukaku?

Then in the tier just below that, are clubs that can and will do it *occasionally*, those would be the likes of AS Monaco, RB Leipzig, Shakhtar, plus any wildcards that do just come out of the blue and find money ‘down the back of the sofa’.

But that’s five to seven A* tier options in Europe, plus a handful of A- tier options.

Not that domestic transfers should be ruled out.

Cont… between domestic transfers, transfers involving the larger pocketed Euro clubs, and potentially a few deals with Saudi & MLS, it would be completely feasible to raise the quoted 200m in player sales.
