It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Mahrez needs replacing. In an ideal world, Palmer and McAtee would be good enough to step in but I haven't seen anything close to suggest they'll make up Riyad's productivity. It's not a slight against our youth, just a reflection of how good we are as a team. The reality is, unless they are a literal special breed (see Foden), they aren't going to make it with us.

And getting Phil or Bernardo to cement that RW spot just leaves us further short in midfield.

Given the war chest we supposedly sit on, we can't be a Gvardiol away from being done in the market. Surely.

I hope not but i have the feeling he will be the last player in this summer

I agree with that Palmer feels closer to being a first team player than McAtee, as it stands today. They are the same age, big talents that both could (and hopefully will) have a future in our team. And in a couple of months or in a year McAtee might have convinced me he is a better player than Palmer, but right now I dont think McAtee has shown enough to be ahead of Palmer in the pecking order. Its not like McAtee comes from a super successful loan spell in the Championship, even if he had a decent season. His team gained promotion and I'm sure he learned and improved a lot during the last year. But half of the games he didn't even get to start, on a team in the league below us. Palmer was also one of the best players in the England u21s that won the Euros, while McAtee unfortunately didn't make the team.

With that said, things can change fast in that age and my opinion is obviously only based from seeing them a small number of games, which means it could easily change once I've seen more from both of them.
McAtee started 27 games in all comps for SUFC (league, FA & League cups) and was subbed in another 16 times (league only) for a team that was chasing and won promotion to the PL (the holy grail). I'd say that was an extremely successful loan for a lad playing his first professional season in the mens game and shows the trust they had in a young lad. 9 goals & 4 assists BTW.
