It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Gvardiol is the new system target it seems mate and we defo need a Mahrez replacement. I also worry about our reliance on KDB to supply ammunition for Erling as well?
If kdb gets injured this season. We have big problems and we definitely need to start looking at bringing soneone in who will attempt to try to replace him .

The 115 lies has done us this window. Wankers achieved what they set out to do with the constant smear campaign.

We are a football outcast.
You reckon that’s impacted our window in terms of how we want to operate? I haven’t thought of it like that yet.

We’ll just have to find new solutions for creativity. I don’t think we’ll play this system from last season as much, depends who that creative force is. This is the year I believe Pep gives Foden more responsibility than ever before. I hope for his sake he stays fit and shows us what we all expect from him.

Football never works on paper mate, 3 years winning this league on the bounce is enough evidence. We operate on a much higher level than the rest.
But we don’t have to look at last three years, what counts is the recent season. We need to celebrate everything we’ve won. On the other hand, we need to look at how Arsenal performed; while we were lucky by escaping injuries, they had one influential player absent for a long stretch in Saliba. How would they have done with him? And maybe one more experienced player? United in the FA Cup again, it was a close game. We are maintaining an advantage by inertia, that’s not how football works.

Gvardiol should be on his way in (when?!) and likely get another in. That’s the squad full in terms of numbers. Suspect it’ll be a fairly busy for weeks, few out on loan also. Saints, Blackburn and PNE apparently looking at Bobb.

The football world is small. No point kidding ourselves and footballers will have an opinion on the situation.

But then again most players go to the team that pays the highest wedge. I think we have genuinely been waiting on players to leave and have possibly left it too late to find a player we actual want. In the past, the club have made no secret as to how they do the due diligence on players.

You could argue we have been slow to react to the players either deciding to leave or stay but it’s not how we treat people.

We might have to suck up this window. Go with what we have and find a proper replacement in jan or next summer.

The treble achievement was monumental and the players who achieved it deserve respect when it come to their future but it’s also probably hindered our recruitment.

FFP will also be something we are aware of and the lack of perceived options available. Throw it all into the mix and we are were we are.

The Rice move was so not like us. Normally we have the player boxed off so it was a strange move and we acted too late, his mind was made up. The fee was always over 100m so that why I think we have ffp in mind.

Even Mahrez didn't average that during his time at City. We'll miss Mahrez's contribution but Foden and Alvarez are capable to step up so don't really need to panic buy.
Yep give them each 1500 extra minutes and the goals will follow.

As things stand KDB and Rodri are playing 50 games a season, Pep dont trust Phillips so why we are keeping him is beyond me ....we need another DM, an attacking midfielder and winger .... Mahrez and Gundys 20 goals a season have been replaced by Kovacic's 2 or 3. I dont normally rant but this has been the shittiest transfer window ever. I know there is still time but I dont hold out any hope for my wishes of Lavia, Wirtz and Barcola.
maybe phillips has said he wasn't going anywhere, maybe that's why we pulled out of the rice transfer( i don't know), mahrez goals will be covered and a few more by phil imo( riyad average in the PL is 8 a season, gundos goals will be covered by by alvarez , i do agree i think we need one more attacking mid/wide player, but i don't think it will be the be all and end all if we don't.

first team wise , haaland up top, jack left, phil/bernie right alvarez dropping behind haaland and kev dropping into the gundo position, that has more goals in it imo than having gundo and riyad, however gundo scored vital goals in vital moments hopefully someone will step up for that

I think we also have shown that calmer heads prevail; we don’t need to be seen as needy as the depth, despite a few exits, is there for all to see; the main target remains the same and will get over the line, we’ve replaced gundogod with a solid recruit; the sporadic form of foden worked in the minutes mahrez was afforded but I’m feeling Phil will have his stand out season, barring injury and I’m totally convinced this is a planned design to immerse a few of the immensely talented kids, into the melting pot; it’s a risk worth taking and can see one in particular being a revelation on fodens level…

The only thing that hampers this is a walker/ Bernardo being flogged last minute, and for me, especially the latter, it will get rebuffed…
