Giving him to Barca for 47M (a pittance) next season is a huge negative to me, as much as I love him sell him to the highest bidder or we keep him for two years and let him leave on a free. It’s a shit deal no matter how you dress this up imhoThe difference is that if we don't give him the RC now, he has 1yr left on his contract next season. How much do you think we will get then, a bag of crisps and an IOU?
So, what we have done is extend his contract which not only rewards him for his efforts so far, gives him the RC next year which for all we know may never be triggered but also protects us and guarantees us that fee.
There is no negative about keeping one of the best midfielders in the world at the club.
Kroos? Modric? Ceballos?Yes they can. they've switched formations and are playing a diamond
From a proper City fanVery excited about this season, and it having the ability to reignite Pep to stay beyond the next 2 seasons.
Very disappointed to see Ilkay go but Kovacic a very very good replacement, always liked him, different player to Ilkay and will support Rodri a lot, the replacement goals will need to come from elsewhere though
Gvardiol is going to be a brilliant signing, a very versatile defender. Sorry to see Aymeric leave but Gvardiol much younger and more versatile. Aymeric deserves his big payday. Quite under appreciated by some on here
Likewise sorry to see Riyadh go but deserves his payday, also under appreciated by many on here, and replaced by an exciting and much younger player, gives us a different dimension on both wings
Cancelo going was always inevitable, nobody needs a sulky anchor weighing down the ship, and Kyle, Rico, Nathan and Gvardiol have the wide defence covered
Sad to see Kevin out for a few months but the prospect of seeing Phil playing more in midfield really excites me, I think he offers so much more in centre mid than on the wing
Keeping Kyle and Bernardo looks very likely, which it didn’t a month ago. THAT is immense
One more centre mud signing feels very likely and I honestly think that completes the squad. We have MacAtee, Palmer and Bobb as exciting prospects for the squad and I hope they all stay
We showed against Newcastle that we have the strength to go and beat a good side without the players who have left (and leaving), without Kev, Bernardo and John, despite a draining midweek fixture
Pep is said to like a rebuild, he has a very trusted number 2 back, he has a tight squad with some exciting additions, his lap of honour on Saturday showed his hunger and excitement, I am really looking forward to this season and I think Pep is too.
After winning the TREBLE I thought we would have a much stronger pull than this/ Well I thought we were getting the big names which we were being teased with. I was expecting to get someone, at least one of the Level of FDJ, BELLINGHAM, PEDRI, GAVI, KVICHA, VINICIUS, ODEGAARD, MUSIALA, KIMMICH, LEAO, COMAN. I would loved BARRELLA/MITOMA/DIABY if we failed above mentioned names. DOKU is exciting and is epic but he has no end product, I hope Pep brings him up to speed on that but I would rather have Diaby. The loss of KDB[injury]/MAHREZ and GUNDO is easily 50+G/A per season. As for Eze, his a nice tidy player, but I did not think we would be paying 90M+ for him, I did not even see him as a suit for us. So is Eze the BIG signing we are waiting for? Damn, that is sad!
Bye then, missing you already.I was dreaming of Wirtz/Barella and Mitoma now I've woke up in real life and it's Doku and possibly Eze. Underwhelming would be an understatement.
Oh old sport, I was not aware of such. After now, it is NOTED!Since you only want to highlight stuff in all caps:
WE NEED 14 TREBLES FOR THAT KINDA PULL!

In here, they move a lot, but I am sure we will get to 115 TREBLES in no time! But when we get to 14, it'll be 115 Trebles. They keep moving the goal posts
