It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Think the answer is self evident.. they have to displace the other players by doing it in training and when they get a chance.

Only Foden truly displaced Sterling in the second half of 20-21 on the CL final run.
Rico did displace Walker for a bit last season so he'll get more chances.

Palmer never really displaced Mahrez,
Perrone, McAtee still to even start their journey.

But the answer will always be, you have to earn it.

And if a kid becomes a starter.. the starter will have to move on as Sterling did.
Cheers Pep :)

Kinda knew all that but just saying I'm a bit disappointed.

I wonder if the squad could look like this when the window shuts...

Doku would play as a super-sub. Palmer would be first choice on the right until KDB returns and nudges his way back in. But the formation often changing there'd still be plenty of game time for Palmer, Alvarez and Doku.

Eze would be an insurance for Foden because without Foden we have precious little creative drive from CM. Also he's be an insurance for a wing position if anyone there was injured or off-form. So he'd also be a sub predominately at the start but eventually he'd find a more permenant place. (To be honest it's difficult to shoehorn Eze in unless Palmer goes)

Gomez would be an alternative on the left for Grealish but only very rarely. Bobb would be even rarer but at least he'd get some tastes this year.

McAtee would be wasted perhaps but just like Palmer maybe it's worth their while staying till January to get the lay of the land. If they go too quickly their opportunity to win a more regular place in the best team in the world could be gone.

Jesus I need to fuck off to bed...
No Alvarez needs to be in starting 11, I would be against City signing an exiting talented young striker though

It is not so bad if you look at the big picture tbh

Edit: I tottally forgot about Alvarez, he can play across front three and in CM slot.

Once Bernardo is back from this injury our attacking midfielder 3 is (likely) going to be Bernie - Foden - Grealish

If it is, that means we'll have Alvarez, Doku and Palmer all on the bench (and McAtee) as attacking options

Not a bad place to be

A new midfielder still wouldn't go amiss but I dunno if a attacking one is the way forward, maybe a playmaker who plays a bit deeper as Kovacic/Rodri don't have a lot of cover (I do think Stones and Lewis are our cover in addition to Phillips even if Pep doesn't trust Kalvin he's still here to stay)
