Akanji isnt a terrible idea as a Walker replacement(same could be said about Stones but he is better suited in his current midfield role) but still we are better off buying a RB.

As long as Pep wants a defensive minded replacement for Walker I don’t have a problem with Akanji at all. Definitely prefer him as a full-back

Maybe we don't need our CB to be crossing as often as they do?

They are good at other things.

Akanji also is pretty good at the John Stones midfield role already, he doens't need to do everything.
