Wharton is looking like a regular for Palace, why would he want to risk that for a back-up role at City, at his age.

Players that come will need to want to back themselves to be first choice.

Good point. I'd completely forgotten about him. If he replaces Rodri in some games and has Bernie alongside that would work.

Don't think any player looks to pause their career for the chance of being no.1 if another player leaves in a couole years. Imo.
