It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

So far, this summer we are not linked with a single player who would improve the squad, let alone be a 1st team starter. Can’t decide if this reflects the current market or our 1st team squad.. maybe it’s a bit of both. In any case, it seems the recruitment team are of the same mind.

Since then, our summer windows have seen us sign (senior/first team players):

1 player - Mahrez
2 players - rodri, cancelo
1 player - Grealish
5 players - haaland Phillips alvarez ortega akanji
4 players - Kovacic gvardiol nunes doku

And last summer was 4 because we had Laporte Mahrez and Gundo leave.

The 5 was when we lost fernandinho, sterking, jesus, zinchenko.

Think we are more likely to do a return to 'quiet' summer business of maybe 2 players, as opposed to 4/5. Unless players other than phillips/cancelo leave unexpectedly.

Yes, the club is very well run and squad planning takes place over, we must sign x etc.

We look due a smaller one and already have one in, expect a Rodri back up.

We have Cancelo/ Phillips to deal with as well.

It probably makes sense for the club to keep it’s powder dry with the charges/ Pep future etc.

No international tournament and clarity on the above, should make next year to be very active.

I also predict you could have changes with Walker/ Stones/ Kev/ Bernardo/ Kovatic/ Nunes and even a Haaland (hopefully not) or Alvarez.

Can’t imagine it will be that many but none of these would fully surprise me.

So could end up being our most important transfer window in a long time.

It’s hard to improve on what we have
