But we don’t need an 8. I thought maybe Kimmich as he could play inverted full back and cover Rodri. Seems the club has other ideas, don’t ask me what but I don’t doubt they have thought and planned for it.

If a midfield that includes DeBruyne, Foden, Bobb, Bernardo, Kovacic, Grealish, Lewis and others cannot cope with the absence of one, no matter how good he is, then there is a problem. That is, IMO, the best combination of midfielders in the Premier League.
