It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

I'd give Stones and Bernardo another season personally. The rest I can see happening along with maybe also cashing in on Ederson if rumours are anything to go by. How many do you see coming in?
High priority for me:

Right back
Midfield x2 (one in Jan)
KDB replacement
Back up striker/versatile forward player

Lower priority:

Back up keeper - If Eddy goes
Left back - allow Gvardiol to play CB
To get us back to where we need to be we probably need at least another 8 really good players to challenge . I dont think people realise how bad of a situation we are in.

I don't think people realise either. I think as well as really good players, we also need bodies who are capable of playing minutes to reduce the burden on the tiny squad. I think we should look at bosmans and loans to help in the short term. No way are we going to be able to sign the players needed to get us out of this in January.

Savio has had really promising season at Girona and has shown signs at City he is a useful player to have ignore his currnet stats at the minute.
20 year old Brazilian in his first Northern Winter.

The lad has had a very decent start to his career with us and is the least of our worries

In the last year or so the midfielders where there seemed to be some concrete interest were Paqueta, Guimares and Wharton.

Newcastle think that some cryptic clues posted by their midfielder means he is leaving.

Would he be a good signing in January?
Newcastle fans seem to agree that he has been in poor form this season and looks burnt out. We’d presumably have to spend even more to land him now, too.

Savinho wasn't meant to be playing this much.

Only playing due to injuries to Bobb, Grealish and Doku.
Yep. Was supposed to be more of an impact player and rotating in for the 'easier' games.

Hopefully when everyone is fit it will ease some pressure on him and he'll start to shine. The ability is obvious.

We won't do that in one transfer window. The most transfers we did in one summer is 5 in recent times.
Did 7 in 16/17 (Sane, Stones, Gundogan, Bravo, Nolito and Zinchenko plus Jesus in January) and 6 in 17/18 (Ederson, Walker, Mendy, Danilo, Bernardo plus Laporte in January).

From that list only KDB, Gundo, Walker, Stones and Bernardo are first team regulars. Might need around 5-6 signings in the next two transfer windows

Agree . How do the fuck dies a team if our stature have to rely on putting Scott Carson on he subs bench because our squad is so small now that is a problem . We used have a battle getting players on the bench because our squad was that good but now we can’t even fill the first 11 with players in the right position I mean when you look at it from where we where to now it’s a massive drop of and if it was in the business someone’s head would be rolling .

Stems from poor business in previous transfer windows. Baulking at the prices the very top clubs need to pay for the best players these days, and possibly some complacency or even arrogance.

It’s always better and easier to strengthen from a position of strength, yet when we win titles we only seem to bring in one or two squad fillers instead of going balls out for someone who would reinvigorate the team and make current players work harder to stay in the starting XI.

If we bottle it when rivals bid more we’ll always end up with sloppy seconds.

Still pisses me off from years ago when we shit the bed over van Dijk’s cost. Look at him now, he’d still be our first choice CB. Same with Rice, just fucking pay what it took to get him away from London.

We are not ruthless enough, so when we have an injury crisis and players’ form drops and they age, it leaves us short. You have to continually improve, not rest on past glories.

Van Dijk ,really? maybe write down a list of our and liverpools achievements since they signed him.

Tiny squad? Isn't there 24 first teamers?
