Correct. Chelsea went out in January last year and bought Enzo Fernandez for £105m and Mudryk for £80m. The next summer they bought Palmer, Caicedo and Lavia for £217m. They gazumped Liverpool twice. They showed aggression and intent. Not all signings have worked, but they have been single-minded and bullish. This was all done whilst not having a shirt sponsor, playing in a ground with a 42,000 capacity and not being in the CL.

Exactly what we should be doing in the transfer market. You get what you pay for, generally bar the odd mistake, but spend enough and things will turn around faster than if we operate too carefully and worry about outbidding rivals.

Giving up on signing the top players is the issue that’s led us to our current situation. Don’t take no for an answer. We’re fucking huge, we have Pep, and hundreds of millions in income.

We offer players, agents and clubs enough to make them decide a move is a good idea after all. Exactly like we should have done with Rice. Let’s not make the same mistakes and bottle buying the players we need and ending up with more Nunes/Phillips level players.

Don’t think either of Patterson, THB, Robinson or Ricci is good enough. Delap feels very unrealistic and I think we’d prefer a CF profile more different to Haaland than Delap. Someone with better linkup play.

I do, however, believe that El Hilali is a very good shout for the RB position. Very limited in attack, like Walker, but is statistically one of the best defensive young full backs in the world. Probably one of the closest like-for-like replacements you could find to replace Walker. My preferred choice would be Livramento, but El Hilali and Singo would be great options if we’re looking for more defensive RBs. If we’re thinking more well rounded RBs, Andrea Cambiaso , Vanderson, Rensch (free transfer as well) or Gusto could be the one

I was thinking more with bellis and delap we maybe have buybacks that easy to deal with livramento seem like he gets injured alot if Chelsea would sell gusto I would snap there hands off
