It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

He is a brain dead player in my opinion. I am not satisfied with him at all. I don't like his attitude either, he is very lazy.
That's really harsh. His decision making, end product, and a tendency to lose the ball in dangerous areas is not great as it stands, but he does have a lot of raw ability. He might turn out great for us. Just think of that Bournemouth game last year.

Same could be said of many young wingers, Rags had one who developed into a serious player (still a c#nt though). Even Salah binned by Chelsea.
Doku is quite clearly a talented boy, he will improve his decision making

I'll believe it when I see it. Im not going to get carried away by a few good games. If he consistently delivers quality performances game after game, then fine. Until then, my opinion stands.

It is worrying, though, that we are already hearing things like "too expensive", "difficult to sign in January". These statements are simply not accurate since many players have release clauses or have contracts ending in the summer. These sound to me like excuses already to justify why we won't be signing anyone. If you think about it, Gvardiol and Haaland aside, when is the last time we signed some truly world-class talent and not a project player? Sure, we have signed some great players for squad-depth, but we are at a stage when squad-players simply won't cut it anymore, and it's only our fault that we need to do this business right now. Who made the call that Savinho and Gundogan are enough in the summer? That was truly shocking decision making. All that in light of record breaking profits for a couple of years now. Unacceptable. If you are not moving forward, you're moving backwards. I said at the end of the 2022/23 season, that Liverpool are going to be our main threat in the 23/24. They weren't, but I wasn't far off, because they are miles ahead of us now, and I said it in light of them signing some really good player at that time. I wanted them here and they were available at reasonable prices. They weren't the only ones too, there were so many players that we could have targeted. We have ourselves to blame for this mess.
I do agree in what you say. We need a toure silva window. But I think it’s difficult in todays market. The silva toure window happened because nobody could compete with the wages we offered. Nowadays even villa could throw a 200k a week contract to the right player. now the Real Madrid tactic of tapping ups the best free transfers based on their prestige / brand. They’re bringing in free transfers (alaba/rudiger/mbappe/trent???) with tapping up 18 months in advance. Then they can also afford the bellinghams and camavingas.
The players they’re bringing have left everyone behind and we need to be smart in the way we conduct our transfers.
Something like sending the lavia/ palmer / frimpong / porro type of players on loan. Doesn’t need to be cfa clubs. But there cannot be another club with the amount of talent playing in Europe who have started or passed through our academy. Therefore the club needs to look within as to why we let them go. Anyone could see these players had talent…even from a tv screen and not training them everyday.
