It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Would be very happy with Gvardiol , the best left sided option at fantastic age and we would easily cover the cost with Laporte and Cancelo sales.

Kovacic I guess helps him settle and gives us another solid option in midfield but at a level below Gundogan.

Pep must see something he likes in Kovacic he thinks he can work with and you have to back Pep.

But Kovacic I imagine isn’t the main midfielder signing mate?

Sadly, I've always felt he was being lined up for Gundo's role, however.

City please do not do this to me!

The role of carry us to two EPL titles when Kdb is injured?
To sneak in at the back post and score the winning goal?
To score a screamer outside the box, when we are being low blocked?

Kovacic, doesnt have that in his locker. He doesnt have Gundo's vision and intelligence!

I hope his not being brought in for Gundo's role. I hope his in for Philips or squad depth.

Guerreiro and Kovacic are both 29 aren’t they?

I‘m not doubting their ability but aren’t they a bit old given that 23-26 is our normal signing range and we are already not willing to give more than a year to Gundog?

It would make sense, providing both are cheap, in that we view the next couple seasons as reeeeal opportunities to take full advantage of KDBs last years and maybe Peps last contract here. We can take a bit of loss (if the deals come in under 40m per player) to try and really push

I don't see Pep cutting his losses with Phillips after one season... I could be wrong but that just doesn't seem like something he'd do.
you don't have to be a bad player for it not to work out under Pep. Some players take time to work out the system but he has historically cut players loose for various reasons (attitude and team spirit spring to mind)

I'm not going to judge Phillips so far, injury meant he didnt have a proper pre-season and he still has to learn the Pep way. If he is moved on then I think it will just mean that Pep-ball isn't for him and they have made a quick decision

i think kovacic will just slot in nicely, can't see a long settling period for him and it makes sense not to have yet another 4000 minute season for Rodders

side note, not seeing the love for Maddison, think he stands out for a few moments a game but doesn't do the other stuff he should be doing. Kovacic is the other way round, does the basics very well without catching the eye. I also think with a decent team and Pep he will start to show more to his game

Still don’t understand how we’re giving Liverpool a free run at this guy

For clarity purposes only, Kovacic could sign for 3 years and still be younger at the end of the deal than Gundo is now. That said, I'm extending Gundo AND bringing in Kovacic for some midfield cover...

no problem with squad players being experienced in with the rookie forward line we have. Good mix in there tbh with the other targets all being 20-22. Gonto,Viega, Jude Gvardiol etc

Guerreiro and Kovacic is us making a real push to take full advantage of having Pep? Really? Guerreiro and Kovacic? If they are rotation options, they’re great. If they are to be integral then we’re weaker. I can’t see it any other way than that.
