Tbh I like this. The market is crap right now for right wingers. I’d rather play this season with Bernardo, Foden and perhaps one of Bobb or Palmer (if one of them stays) and then buy someone perfect that emerges this coming season, than buy someone that isn’t right this summer just because we feel pressured into getting someone for the sake of it. We simply don’t want or need pacy wingers. We need controllers out there, it’s what Pep wants. If there isn’t someone that is available who can do that… wait.

People are going to lose their minds, but it makes more sense to go a year without a player than with one who is a bad fit. It gives us the freedom to act once that perfect player is out there and we’re not lumbered with someone less than ideal.

Txiki should join bluemoon, we can offer him a good list of wingers.

I love the dependencies and rumours that are being reported regarding our transfers.

Laporte can only leave if we get Gvardiol (smart), but we didn't operate that policy with Mahrez. We have a list of 3 names for the winger position but none of them are tickling Txiki's fancy (shit listmaking). Palmer can only leave on loan if we get a senior winger in. Regardless, we only have the capacity to do one thing at a time and won't look at a winger til Gvardiol is done. Which has to happen by mid-August but could be done today or never.

Bit of a weird one. Gvardiol aside, it definitely looks like we're lining up for a 'we're happy with the options on the wing' statement.

Don’t see anything bizarre in it, we went for Bellingham because the opportunity was there. Apart from that and Gvardiol very few spaces in the squad ,or players better than what we have if nobody else other than Laporte leave.

Haha in fairness, if we had got either Bellingham or Rice, plus Kovacic and Gvardiol it definitely would have been big! Just seems to have stalled/dragged on a bit. You can see a hint of not finding value in the current market...but what's the expectation for the market? That values will go down?

Prices only going to go up mate and with our growing sales again this summer bringing in big profits it’s slightly baffling we aren’t abit more organized? Certainly on the mahrez replacement?

You never know, could be incredibly organised but just don't like anyone out there & Mahrez surprised them. I think the reporting is funnier than the truth, because we don't really know the truth. The idea that Txiki has made a list of players for RW but he doesn't like them is objectively funny. So is the idea that a club the size of City can only do 1 transfer at a time (and all transfers are put on hold when Txiki's on his jollies). Guess all we really know at the moment is that we are trying to buy Gvardiol and don't have any real links for a departed Mahrez.
