As long as they are the right players, I don't think we should care if it goes to the final day of the window.

Another creative, scoring midfielder, should be a priority over a winger for me.

I think we'll replace Mahrez. It makes no sense to leave ourselves even shorter than last season.

Would love it to be Leroy but if we were genuinely interested and Bayern were willing to sell then I guess we'd have heard something by now. It's a shame because it sounds like he wants to come back.

I disagree of it being legitimate because it addressed the two main points.

Scale and cost. We haven't been shy on either and anyone claiming otherwise, perhaps some can take it for granted when we spend £100m on a player, the overall costs involved signing someone like Haaland, even the indifference to paying £45m for a starting England midfielder.

City have never spent £70m/£80m on a group of players in one window because we haven't needed to - yet.

This summer we have gone £90m for Rice, £90m for Gvardiol, £30m Kovacic.

We aren't blinking because of competition, we have our ceiling for everyone.

Pep says we have plenty of business to conclude incoming and out.

We have gone for…is not equating to got.
They will shortchange Pep, if that’s the way it goes, because they know he can make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
How long will he stay, maybe two years?
Then what? Give all the money to the new guy, when you already had the man to give the funds to?

It’s precisely the kind of signing we need to make. Players with a very high ceiling that can learn from Pep and other players and leave us in a good place for the future. Right now Chelsea is doing that, they have a lot of quality young players tied to long contracts that will make them a force in the future. Real Madrid, needless to say, even more so
