Time to give the youngsters a chance. Bobb and Mcatee deserve more minutes, so I’m thinking we don’t need a replacement
probably all we need him to do though.Bobb has shown great potential. Mcatee hasn’t shown anything to suggest he can do anything more than Carabao in this squad.
probably all we need him to do though.
Thats all Palmer did for us. Give the kids a chance.Bobb has shown great potential. Mcatee hasn’t shown anything to suggest he can do anything more than Carabao in this squad.
probably all we need him to do though.
Personally, I do think the 115 is probably affecting business. We might well be 100% confident, and happy to put clauses into contracts etc, but whilst it’s in previous seasons been something on the horizon then this is now different as we know the result will be due in the next few months.
Wont be the main reason, but one of the few reasons i expect.Maybe. Not if we are saying he is one of the reasons we don’t need to replace Alvarez though
I’m not sure. Think the top players would come with a plan. No one here is jumping ship or not signing new deals. It definitely it is.
Some have denied it but there will be players put off from joining us while it hangs over our necks.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Bellingham was one of them last year.
So you honestly believe that with the current profile of players at City along with the ever expanding commercial brand of the club that adding one player on a high fee and/or wages changes anything as it relates to the 115? Highly unlikely. I believe in deciding to keep KDB, Bernardo, and Walker and possibly Stones and Kova for another year the club is bracing for some necessary big spending next Summer in order to replace that level of outgoings. This club operates with an eye on the future while maintaining current success. It's clubs that live for only today that fail to succeed now and going forward. City aren't going to chase after big names to appease a bunch of overzealous, never satisfied fans on Twitter, Blue Moon, etc.If that brief goes out and we don’t go and make a signing then we should all be very worried about the reason behind that imo. Theres no way mcatee is anywhere near the level currently. If we let Alvarez go given the amount of games he’s played, goals and assists he’s got for us over the past 2 seasons for big money and don’t go out and buy a top player you have to wonder if it’s to do with the 115 charges and not wanting to get a top player in for a big fee and big wages if we are fearing the worst. It’s not like this has come out of the blue and we were unprepared it’s been clear he’s wanted out all summer.
Disagree. McAtee is more than capable of filling Alvarez' midfield role in the squad.Maybe. Not if we are saying he is one of the reasons we don’t need to replace Alvarez though

So the charges have had some benefits to the club then.It definitely it is.
Some have denied it but there will be players put off from joining us while it hangs over our necks.

So what is your theory? That we're "dismantling" because we're going to get done by the 115? Not buying that theory. Too much evidence pointing in the opposite direction, specifically the new major sponsorship and commercial partnership deals we continue to enter into...Agree about the midfield, that was the first sign something is wrong imo. Been obvious for 2-3 years that Rodri needs a rest in some games, if Pep thought Kovacic could play as a 6 fairly regularly he would have done it a lot more last season. And whilst Bernardo will play more centrally this season he still isn’t a 6.
If Alvarez goes and we choose not to replace something definitely amiss and it’s more than just Peps future.
Me too!!!!Imo if we had won the penalty shootout, we would have won another treble.
The team would have found it in them to win at least one game against bayern which could have been enough.
And after that it is one final, and with that looming, no way they lose the fa cup final like that, the focus would have been there.
And then the final, with 4 trophies in the bag, they would have had immense hunger for it.
That's how I see this team, and their character.
I see what you did there...but that fucker can play, don't fool yourself...No, Tonali would be too much of a gamble for me...
and please no re Felix. watched him a lot over the years and he's never come anywhere near that astronomical transfer fee...
To be fair he will be a squad player. It’s the potential that’s exciting with him.Bobb has shown great potential. Mcatee hasn’t shown anything to suggest he can do anything more than Carabao in this squad.
You are way underestimating MacAtee...I would agree with this sentiment.
For me the defeat against Madrid in the CL made it possible to win our fourth consecutive title, without that defeat we don't win the title, our players looked tired and were struggling.
We have needed to refresh the midfield for sometime, we must be bringing in a high quality player to help Rodri, Kovacic was a great squad addition but not as a regular.
We also have several players with dubious injury records, Ake, Stones, Kovacic, Haaland and KDB all miss a lot of games or are unavailable, with the small squad we have that becomes an issue, especially later in the season.
This could well be Bobb's breakout season, he is a hell of a talent but McAtee for me is no more than a Gomez replacement.
So Neto it is then ;-)Olmo gone to Barca so that ship has sailed. Too poor an injury record for me anyway.
Ha, don’t need wingers now mate.So Neto it is then ;-)
I agree - when I look at a player playing just off the striker I always look at the timing & quality of his through balls and from what I saw during the pre season and to an extent during his loan spells he looks decent. I also think he can really up his goals ratio so there is a lot to look forward to with James. You are way underestimating MacAtee...
