X2 :) as much as I'd like new players you can't just buy them for a few weeks and that's all we need them for at the moment in afraid.

Until the next time we get a suspension/injury or abscence.....

I fully understand the practicalities and realities of football management and finances, however,i honestly don't believe the squad is strong enough without the 'spine' players we are currently missing, our 'reserve' options havn't got the mental or physical presence to adequately replace.

If the majority of our first 11 stay fit etc. for the rest of the season then we'll be fine, otherwise i reckon we are gonna struggle to maintain our current position.

Name a club in a different position than us, it's how it goes I am afraid, January is not the time for squad strengthening it very rarely works out, true if we had players that were going to be missing for the rest of the season, but even then there is no guarantee that the new player/s would make that much of an, impact have we learnt anything over the past few years (the fans that is) I actually trust the club and the managements judgement on this issue, if they don't think we need anyone fair enough, before anyone mentions big player name x (or Y and Z) if they are not available we can't kidnap them and make them play for us
No you don't.

You're going totally against what Mancini wants.

Have you read a newspaper recently? He's been banging on about strengthening the squad now for weeks!

If you're going to quote other sources as back up to your point of view, at least get it right!

I can't think of a manager that would not want more and better players in their squad, I would like more money in my bank account it would enable me to do far more things, however I live within my means, and that is what this club will be doing despite the expert advice that is freely given on here, it does make me wonder why a few of you are not out there managing football clubs, you really seem to know your stuff, yes we will just buy player X (or Y or Z) and all our problems will be solved, deep in your heart of hearts you know it's not true, no one or even two players will solve any teams problems especially in January.

We have a squad that can and in my opinion will win the League, sure there are some key players missing, but that's no different to any other club.

I blame fantasy football and computer games

While I agree with the thrust of what you're saying Ducado, at this point our squad when compared to that of our rivals does look a little light on numbers. United have 6 reasonably experienced forwards to call on, we have 3. Where we have 8 midfielders, they have 10 (as do Spurs). If Nedum's transfer goes through that will leave Mancini with only 19 dependable outfield players (and that's including Hargreaves). Our quality is not in question, but the quantity is, and one or two additions could make a world of difference.

Not read the thread so I apologise if it's been asked/covered, anyone know if theres any thruth that we have representitives watching Ajax this weekend?

This has been the best transfer window ever. Cant believe we signed ..... erm....... NIR BITON

TBH I think he will be a cracker and I don't suppose that getting a young high-end prospect is easy nowadays with every club looking for the next big thing?

City's doing really well and must be working their bollocks off to grab such potential has they've done over the past two year......I'm very proud of the clubs hard work and the financial backing from Sheikh Mansour.

I'm not having a go by the way, I'm saying.

He'll never play regularly for us.

Personally i think we are two players down - the loss of Yaya has been pivital more so than Kompany in my opinion

Our midfield lacks pace and drive, what we have seen since Yaya adsence is that any combo of DJ / Milner / Barry is never ever going to keep the ball or be creative (think tomorrow will be a long long day - would take a draw now)

We are also three players down and two players at ACON - quite simply we need a midfield type player and maybe a winger

Think if we dont get somebody in we will put ourselves under enormous pressure to win the prem

You have no idea that is the case.

Quite true, a baseless prediction on my part.

But our standard of play now and in the future, it really takes a truly special talent to break through to the first team.

Look at Chelsea, been a top top side for 8 or so years not and really not one player through their ranks. Part of it has to do with scouting I'm sure, but a lad has to be truly remarkable to earn a place in a top 3 side at an early age.

Personally as daft as this may sound, I think we could really give Torres the opportunity to get back to his best.

For me he is the best stiker in the league when on form.

Agreed, but he'd never get the opportunity to play himself back into form here
