It's Quiet - a new dawn

This is disappointing. We're never going to get to the level of the top clubs amongst Europe if we're not signing top quality players not just good players it's this problem that has cost us so dearly over the past few years. I'm afraid you've got to play top dollar for top players unfortunately city don't seem to appreciate this as much as real, Barca etc... since 2012 the only signings that we've made that are similar to their's are Jesus and KDB.

And now Bernardo Silva.

You'll get pelters for that but there is clearly an element of truth in what you say, however for the moment the Silva signing is enough to suggest we do mean business.

"if" true, it would be a big mistake if we do this ....sometimes you just got to pay up! Fullback is by far the weakness position and teams know this, it would be the wrong time for us to get cheap. Only way we winning the prem back is by getting our targets especially at fullback. This would be a big drop off in talent..
A useful fullback but is it as a number one or back up? I doubt if he is good enough to take us to the next level if he is going to play the big games.

It genuinely has gone very quiet hasn't it?

I thought we were going to see 2 or 3 deals announced by now.

Only thing is we didn't need to mean business in Silva's position, we've now got three (four including Gundogan) world class players there plus two promising youth players to come through over the next couple of years. In no way am I moaning about the B. Silva signing, I just believe that money should've been spent in our problem positions which are GK and full back and not attacking midfield.

Bertrand is a decent player but I would've thought he'd be brought in as back up at best. I'd be pretty underwhelmed if after 4 years of having Clichy and Kolarov at LB, we replace them with Bertrand. It's not exactly the world class upgrade we all hoped for, and certainly not showing that we mean business.

Bertrand is a good player.

If the links are correct, and I believe we have liked him for a couple of years, it will be him And Mendy.

Very strong back up.

As for the claims why would he, why the fuck wouldn't he, even in a World Cup year.

He started out at Chelsea, he backs himself and we are one of the biggest clubs in the world with the manager worthy of the name.

Strength in depth is the policy.
