It's Quiet - a new dawn

Txiki still likes Alderweireld.

Ongoing contract talks at Spurs but as of next season, there is a £23m buy out clause which kicks in.

Spurs really pushing the player to sign a new deal now and do away with that clause.

He's asking for Kane money, though.

Spurs know they could get £40m this summer but are still confident he will extend.

Otherwise...

Surely Levy is too proud to sell us half his defence, £23m clause next year or not.

He would be a hell of a signing for £40m.

Kelechi sale is not a buy back OPTION it is a buy back GUARANTEE.

About 40 per cent above £25m, whether that be in year one or year four.

This is a concern for a couple of clubs. They are willing to meet with our asking price but feel they will miss out financially if Nacho does realise his potential.

Strange curve ball by City.

Effectively a fixed release clause that City are insisting on.

City probabaly want to loan him but plan on spending alot so decide to sell him for more income

To confirm, we sell him for £25m, then WILL DEFINITELY buy him back at some point in future for £25m + 40%?

Makes sense to me Tolm's
It's about it time we started to negotiate property on out going transfers!

Yeah, I'm not sure what's stranger about it, a buyback clause is nearly always fixed. if it's not fixed, it'd be a sort of "first refusal" option.

The only surprise is it's so low, £35m is 40% above £25m and I'd have thought it would be least £40-50m.

Unless Tolmie means it's a guaranteed buyback, so it's basically just a loan with funny accounting.

Isn't that basically a loan that we are paying for? Makes no sense that arrangement.

Why?

We need somewhere he can go and develop. If we sell him they'll spend £3-4m a year on his wages, and then we'll buy him back after paying them a few million for the favour of developing him for us.

It's a bit arrogant to expect West Ham to end up losing money in this arrangement. Yes they get a great player for a couple of years if he comes good, but it's still a gamble on their part.

You telling me we couldn't get somebody to take him on a loan for free? Goal scorers don't even come free. You'd make a terrible salesman, made it sound like Theyre doing you a favour when in reality it's the other way around.
