It's Quiet - a new dawn

This conversation is clearly going nowhere, it's about the fee involved in harnessing the potential not the fact he has it. I'm not happy in displacing Sergio who is a proven potential with two kids in Jesus and mbappe, integrate them, but it won't happen, as we've seen a 25 mill talent came straight into the fray and pushed Sergio out of the team, there isn't a cat in hells chance we'd spend 150 mill and not expect Sergio to be further displaced.
So your issue is the potential impact to Kun, not the cost of this lad - that's how I read your post

Be a good signing this if we can get him.

So long as it strengthens us then I couldn't give a fuck about the price. The money men know what we can afford so I don't need to worry about it.

Shame Alan Ball isn't still with us he could have given us the proper heads up. he knows all about potential talent. Remember Martin Buster Phillips !

As I see it...

£150m on a 5 year deal equates to £30m pa in reality, Sanchez at £70m (Arsenal valuation) would likely sign a 3 year deal & that equates to £23m pa. So on the grand scheme of things when you consider Mbappé is only 18 & likely to resign & extend a contract if he joined, let's say he eventually extended another 3 years (that's 8 in total) his value then would of been £18.75 pa! Now tell me that's not a bargain for the current world no1 talent. Add to that income from sponsorship & shirt revenues etc etc & we could be talking a lot less. This could also be City's first player to carry a huge buy-out clause.

I'm also not convinced the initial fee will be anywhere near £150m, I'm gonna say £80-90m with add-ons that eventually get to this magic £150m number. I'm also going to suggest wages would be closer to £120-140k pw with bonuses to incentivise the lad to perform.

So although initially these figures seem mind blowing, in reality it's not such a crazy deal. I've just spent a few minutes looking at this but City will of sounded Monaco & the player out for some time, this won't be a recent negotiation having already spoken to them about other signings. City also woulnt be chasing him if they didn't believe a deal was possible or if the figures didn't stack up. When we talk about our owner we are talking about a very good business man, the day he bought us he made 3 other global deals & City was the cheapest outlay! He knows what he's doing.

I can also understand the worry some feel about Aguero, but sentiment can't get in the way of progression. We either want to advance & become 'the team' or we remain happy to pick up scraps & the odd reward from those sat at the big table. For me... I want that pie all to myself, I want City to win the lot! Aguero has been amazing, our first real superstar probably & for that he'll remain a legend forever more. But there's been rumblings of him being unhappy for a while, & he isn't getting any younger. In fact I'd argue we have seen him peak & maybe it's time to cash in while we can? I've been convinced for a while this is going to be his last season with us regardless, maybe we convince him to teach these youngsters the ropes & hope he decides to stay on after that. But if he wishes to go we thank him for his amazing services & we move on. I don't know, but I do know you can't miss an opportunity to sign a world beater & make such a huge statement.

This signing if it happens is more than just buying a young talent, it's about sending a message. Man City can now attract these sort of players & can bully the likes of Real out of the deal. PSG have threatened the big boys with the likes of trying to sign Naymar but they're just full of wind & trying to walk the walk, but they've shown they don't have the nut sacks to follow it through. We are now in a position to actually not only walk the walk but talk the talk too! & don't underestimate NIkes roll if this comes off. Also don't be surprised if Nike do a new bumper improved deal with us along with Etihad & other sponsors that'll make this outlay seem peanuts.

Get it done City & watch those heads drop, shockwaves rumble & bitterness spout... We can also watch those trophies roll in. For me... it's a no brainer.

or he comes bombs out and is that bad he gets fucked off after two seasons, that's £70mpa, now tell me that's not a bargain.

ive not seen enough of the lad to say yes he's the real deal but if city have seen enough to warrant it then fuck it why not.
