Precisely, we've allegedly had the best squad for the past 3 seasons and spent a bloody fortune and won 1 milk cup and possibly an FA cup this season, hardly great is it.

People seem to think spending another 200 million is the key to winning everything next season. United won titles with some bang average players in the squad because they had the right mentality and a strong English core for 2 decades.We have a mentally fragile squad with no leaders- something money can't buy.

^^ it seems top be the answer fopr everything on here, spend 200m minimum and only buy world class talent. if english players/lower team or league players are mentioned most dont seem to want them. which i find strange, theres some fantastic talents in this league who we could get. rose has been mentioned, one of the best left backs in the league, yet hes shit according to many on here. we need to build a team, yes with high quality, but we are missing the right mentality as you say and we could do with players who want to fight for us and be moulded by pep. those players dont have to cost 50m everytime.

Couldn't agree more , there are plenty of clubs throughout Europe and in the PL that pick these great players up for peanuts and nurture their talent and make them top drawer players , City either don't have the ability in this regard or simply are happy to continue to buy the ready made article and take the gamble , look what Wolfsburg paid for Kevin or Liverpool for Raheem, the list is endless , the mentality of the squad has been a problem for 3-4 seasons now and it's continuing even under Pep to a certain degree,we seem unable to press the peddle hard for a full 90 minutes in games and appear to only run through brick walls when we go a goal down , it's why bringing some young hungry talent into the squad from within will define this club and how fans back the team in the not too distant future , spending massive amounts on players has proved to us it doesn't mean we will win anything , one milk cup and possibily an FA Cup is a poor return in 3 seasons for what £300m spent ?

I'd love to see all of our respective thoughts prior to the signings of Toure, Kompany, Zaba, Barry etc and see how many of us actually called what role they'd play and how effective they'd be for us.

Sit back, enjoy the ride...and stop thinking you know how good they'll be, and in what position they'll be best, because history would suggest we've probably got no elfin idea.

Yaya seems to be just another 'pass it sideways and give it back to the geezer yer got it from' mercant. We want and need better than Yaya.

I seem to be in a minority here. I see Yaya Toure as a good defensive midfielder but his distribution is laboured, telegraphed and often inaccurate. He is most definitely not the man to transform our midfield creativity.

I'd be disappointed if he ended up with us.

It wasn't Pep who discovered Kimmich, but Michael Reshke, who is the Bayern head of scouting and convinced Pep to go see him a few times until he had a good game and Pep agreed he wanted him.
