It's Quiet - a new dawn

This Rose > City / Shaw > Spurs story seems to be gathering some momentum. Danny's a northern lad and Shaw's a Londoner. I can see United saying no to selling Shaw, but if they do sell him then I reckon getting Rose becomes much more realistic. Of all the Spurs players he's the one I'd want before any other as well. Imagine Sane/Rose down our left hand side. That'd be filth.

I'm not sure Shaw has the backing of Mourinho so a move may be on the cards but he's played so few games over the past 2 seasons would Spurs really consider him?

Not all statistics are equal. I agree that we need a solid defender who is reliable at left back, but we seem to be at odds about what Pep values most. You seem to believe he would sacrifice pass accuracy in favor of more traditional defensive metrics, while I happen to feel that if the latter are of a certain standard then pass accuracy will be the main draw.

I don't disagree with you about Rose, but about City. Our system is built on passing, movement and most of all possession. To this end, Rose is not the perfect fit in the position and, given he would carry an exorbitant price tag, doesn't seem to be a smart target unless we really need more English players.

Again, I think you're fixating on his pass completion %, whereas I'm looking at LB's as a whole. Passing is very important, but so is the capacity to win duels, make KEY passes, complete take ons, generally be able to operate in all phases of play.

Fundamentally there are few better LB's out there than Rose which is why we would want him. Nothing to do with nationality and everything to do with talent.

You have gone from ''arguably the best l/b in the world' to 'a gettable left back who is better than Rose'. Not actually sure he is the best left back at Spurs

Oh my god.
Please don't tell me you are even toying with the idea of laying it out on the table that Ben Fucking Davies is better than Rose,

He got absolutely destroyed against Liverpool last month and each time he comes into the spurs side when Rose is out, he is just streets behind
Don't get me wrong, he ain't even that bad a player and he is superior to what we have now; but he is just not even in the same league as Rose

Rose has every tool in the box to suit everything we need, along with being HG and a northern lad, so it isnt asif we have to rip him out of his home city to get him up here

Bernat just shades it. He is more tactically flexible and Spurs play a different style and Rose will take more time in adapting at City. However there are probably a few factors that make Danny Rose the more viable option.
