It's Quiet - a new dawn

I think Pep will wrap Kompany up in cotton wool. I believe Kompany will be used sparingly in the big must win games. Maybe against lower opposition we can get by without him purely on the number of goals the new attack will bring. Did the same thing with Puyol at Barca and got a further three to four seasons out of him.
I don't think that's possible. Once you've got Vince fit and playing then he needs continual games to stay at his peak, imo if we then rested him and he didn't play for a couple of weeks that would be when we risked him breaking down.

We all pray that vinnie isn't finishe'd and the last few games gives us all hope. I think we will try and sign a new CB though. We have too just in case vinnie does break down again don't we??
But saying that, we did win plenty of games without him and with better full backs and a decent DM then maybe our CB's won't be left so exposed as they were at times last season. A new keeper who's big and commanding will help our CB's as well no end whoever is playing. Hart is that man in my eyes and he's amazing in my fifa team ;-) but pep doesn't want him which is a great shame.
I have full faith in the club though to make the right choices and we should be bloody weeing ourselves in excitement at the players hopefully coming to our club over the next few weeks, months and even years to come!!

i think potential is the key mate, as you say. look at spurs with kane, alli and winks. i wouldn't say any of them looked world class before breaking into the spurs team and i wouldn't class them as world class. i honestly think players like sancho and foden have similar potential. they just need enough games and chances to develop. id make the squad smaller and full of top class players and give the youth more games.

Just my opinion but why do so many people posting on here care about having youth team players in the first team? I'm absolutely not having a go, just an observation.

To me, all that matters is that City win games and win titles and cups. I don't care whether that includes youth players or 11 £100m stars, as long as we win.

If any of the youth team are good enough to step in for players like Silva, Kompany and Aguero they will, if not then best to loan them out or get rid, so they don't cost us points. I think the one thing we can't afford (especially after a trophyless season) is time. Teams like Spurs and Southampton have that luxury as the expectation is lower, so their youth players are afforded mistakes and dropped points. Ultimately this pays of for them, with some superb players now established in their starting XIs or sold on to bigger clubs. But we cannot afford to have someone like Garcia or Maffeo cost us points. Better to let them learn out on loan.

i agree they have to be good enough. If they aren't good enough or dont have the potential to be they shouldnt be in our squad. why wouldn't you want youth team players in the team or squad though ? it would be great to have a local lad in the first team, players like that are special for any club. first team players who cost 50m have been costing us points. as i said if they are good enough then its a 'risk' worth taking.

Anyone know what is happening with Roberts?

He's looked like a world-beater with Celtic... but so has Scott Sinclair, so it's difficult to truly take in his progress.
