It's Quiet - a new dawn

Yaya's apparently about to sign a new contract, Gundogan is more than capable of playing that role and Fernandinho is going nowhere so I'd say it's not a priority right now. Goalkeeper and full backs are what we need to focus on right now.

Edit: Also, Aleix Garcia is that kind of player. Hopefully he'll make another step up and, even if not, he'd provide backup in an emergency.
I wouldn't mind Garcia getting a good amount of game time next season, I genuinely believe he can be our busquets for years to come, which is why I'd be disappointed if we signed carvalho or Fabinho because that would spell the end for aleix.

No I know what you mean, everyone is going to have to be on their toes, but I'm talking about round pegs in square holes,he needs players who can play in their respective positions, right from the off
Fair point. Fabinho is a genuine DM and would play the same position for us, no doubt. I mean that he'd need to change the way he moves and uses the ball. Not at once but steadily, through training drills.

Hope you understand that even 34 yo Yaya is twice a player than Garcia now. The lad needs a good loan (NAC or Girona) while we'd better get an upgrade on Toure and Dinho.

Is Fabinho a genuine DM? Pretty sure he's a physical box to box player like a giant Fernandinho, not a defensive midfielder

Players will be playing to solidify spots for the World Cup. Mendy is looking to hold down the LB spot for France. If Juve are playing hardball with Sandro, why would Mendy jeopardize that by playing 2nd fiddle? Fabinho still has competition to get into Brazil's squad and Juve seem to be buying every MF on the market, so why would he jepordize his chances as well? They are better off staying in that case if it's between us and Juve and they think about Juve. Jardim had a interview and confirmed that more look likely to be leaving and said only PSG are able to keep a project together. that if he stays on he wants to replace those who leave with players that can keep him competitive.

Mendy is in Clairefontaine with his French team mates, so definitely not coming to Manchester today.
