We all eagerly await this day. Looking on at all the other teams scrambling for players. Hopefully we will only need to buy one world class player a year. We'll still get no credit for it though.According to Mr Khaldoon the Academy future is to produce 1 or 2 players capable of integrating into our PL team each year so maybe our raids on Monaco and other PL teams for their already bloodied youngsters is likely to be reduced as our Academy matures ?

I don't think pep needs more than one pre season to be able to make up his mind as to whether he can make something out of a player

The brief has always been to produce 3 players, at least, a season from the academy.
1) to challenge the first team spots.
2) good enough to sell at a high profit who has potential at a large club but not good enough for City.
3) good enough to sell to a lower league team & make a few bob.
If you think about it, it's exactly what we're starting to see happen more or less. It's exactly how Barça did/do it.
Khaldoon would obviously like that but half of his talk is usual corporate PR stuff.

I'm fairly sure Pep is completely independent manager and won't allow anyone to tell him who to play.
You only need to look at the budget Pep has been given to sign his targets to know he is in complete. I think the only situation in which K-dawg and the T-Meister would refuse him is if the Arse wanted something silly like £100 million for Sanchez. They're certainly not going to force him to play the kids just because.
Arsenal have accepted a bid of £35 million. We should not offer more. Whatever game of poker they want to play is fine, they've already shown their hand. They can say whatever they like about it being the same league, we know that the bottom line is they'll sell at that price.
