It's Quiet - a new dawn

No no no, that's not what is being said. If Aguero goes, he'll be replaced with a world class signing to either partner or rotate with Jesus. We'd still do well to have back up to them and I think it's generally agreed that Kelechi isn't it.

So Defoe would get as much game time as Iheanacho has when stuck behind two world class strikers?

This idea makes no sense on so many levels.

I don't think it'd be wise to bank next season on a 20 year old full back who's only played a couple of seasons of top flight football. The two full backs we bring in need to hit the ground running and I expect that's why we're going to sign Walker/Sandro or players of that age/experience in those positions. In fact I reckon it'll be the same at CB as well. We're going to sign someone in the 25-30 age range as opposed to younger.

I don't think walker is a bad purchase but Im just not sure he has the football brain...at least I've never seen it with Spurs...he is great at overlapping....puts in a decent cross and can go up and down the wing all day (just like Pep said he wants when he commented on it the other day)...its more when he is required to come inside and get involved in quick passing and build up play.....ferna was doing it yesterday.....

Pep also likes to being in young players and he looks like he is happy to place a lot of responsibility on GJ's shoulders and he is only 20 as well. I know its different being at the back/defence.

Sandro I have no doubts about...he looks quality

If you look at what Pep wants from his players, tactical intelligence is absolutely paramount IMO. So if we sign Walker it'll be because he's tactically intelligent enough to play in Guardiola's side. I wouldn't worry about that too much at all.

yeah thats what i was getting at as well....I guess Pep will know whether he is but I have to say he doesn't show it that often.....

Plus, surely we can find a buyer for AK this summer. We wouldn't expect much of a fee due to his service and only 12 months left on deal, token couple of mil and I'm sure he'd leap at chance of getting a 3/4 year deal back in Italy

Might as well keep him as a backup CB, he's been decent when called upon and excellent at spraying balls with his left foot

Fucking hell, can't we give him away for free? No matter his renaissance in the early part of this season lets fuck him off and keep Otamendi.

Pretty much, he's bigger and faster, a much better defender. Attack wise he's not as good as Kolarov at his best but I always felt we didn't see kolarovs best all that often post-Mancini.
Personal opinion was that Kolarov's best season was Pelles first but he has been pretty mercurial most of his time here to be honest, when things go well he has looked good on a number of occasions but when things have been poor...................

Think we saw last summer how difficult it is to sell players going into the last year of their contract we ended up keeping all of them. Wages are the biggest issue, but that would be the ideal but still think it would leave us needing one player to cover left back and centre back, like Kolasinac.

Ox has looked very good at wing back is he out of contract this summer or next? If he's available this summer then he'd be a better option than extending Navas.

He's in that category where he's not good enough to start but too good just to waste away on the bench somewhere. Would be a shame to see him sat on our bench every week.

I've said for a couple of years we'd have done a good bit of business if we'd have brought him in at the same time as Sterling. He seemed to have stalled a bit last season (just like Sterling did last year too in many eyes) but has picked back up in the last few weeks.
