It's Quiet - a new dawn

No it's not a fair question, it's completely idiotic. We all know what he's doing.

Oh and you could identify them as good players, congratu-fucking-lations! Why don't you go off an be DoF somewhere, you might work out that identifying the players is about 5% of the job.

Well I wouldn't say it would be that difficult to convince a player to come to city. Maybe the conversation goes like this:

We have one of the most respected managers in the game to learn from and your gonna get loads more money. Plus we can afford to pay your clubs over inflated valuation.

Ok great where do I sign.

His record on identifying players is patchy at best.

Just to let you know, we have strengthened the GK position this summer not 2 years back. CB is still a concern. I don't recall any good CM that has been bought prior to Guardiola's arrival. And talking about ST, which striker did we buy exactly before Guardiola arrived? And if that area has indeed been solved, then why are we chasing after strikers this window?

Sorry, but what are you talking about? I'm talking about last summer. GK, Bravo, CB, Stones, CM, Gundogan, Striker, Jesus.

These are the areas of the pitch Pep wanted to strengthen last summer first, before the fullbacks.

We're the only club in the world with a great manager? No

Are we the only club in the world who pays our players what we do? No

Have we won fuck all of note in the last 3 years? No.

Have we had any European success? No.

We were a club you grew up fantasising about playing? No.

Perhaps if we were competing with Stoke for players then you'd be right, but we're not, it's Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich, the rags and PSG.

Go back and read it. It wasn't worth the outrage

"Not impressed that we got to pre-season and need 3 full backs or even 4. That should not happen if Txiki is doing his job"

Nope, that deserved being pulled up because it's a load of shite!

You said we there was no point replacing fullbacks before Guardiola arrived as we had other areas to strengthen. Most of the positions you mentioned has been or are going to be strengthened now. So thats what I believe Marvin is trying to say that why were the fullback positions not strengthened before?

Quite a lot of city fans wondering what we are doing regarding full backs if you read the forums. So far we haven't actually signed any. Tkxci's record isn't great over the last few years is it? So fair point to question what he has been up to thus far.

Walker and mendy would be great if they actually sign. But I could have identified them as good fullbacks. It would be good to see us sign an up and coming player as cover for them or maybe give maffeo an opportunity?
You're right he's done nothing Tkxci's out.

There was no point buying them before Pep arrived because he has very specific requirements for his fullbacks, and expects them to be great wingers, CB's, midfielders as well as fullbacks. So replacing them before summer 2016 would have been a gamble on us getting players he didn't just want to replace.

Last summer, Guardiola arrived and decided there were more important areas of the pitch, so Begiristain bought the players he wanted.

It's not that complicated. We had to build a new team, it couldn't be done all at once.

No I don't think it is to be fair. Fullbacks are hugely important to our system, we've known for 2-3 seasons they needed upgrading and they still haven't been. How is Marvins point shite?

Maybe when it comes to Mbappe and Sanchez we are competing against those clubs - hence why I think it's unlikely to happen.

But those top clubs aren't in for Walker.

I think I've explained my opinion pretty thoroughly in the last 2 pages, read for yourself.

Oh so we only had convince daniel fucking levy to sell one of his best players, the best RB in the league last summer. I'm sure that was piss easy, he's not notoriously difficult to buy off.

This is a man who chose to sell Bale to Madrid for less than United offered, & Modric to Madrid for less than Chelsea offered because he refused to strengthen his opposition. A guy who despite having a team full of the most promising players in the country, hasn't sold to a top 4 club since 2009.

Piece of piss obviously.

Going round in circles now.
He fell out of favour towards the back end of last season. Think Spurs and Levy will be pretty pleased with £50mil for him. Not like we screwed them down and got a great deal.

In the end I think the deal benefits both clubs. They get £50mil to invest in their squad, we get a home grown, proven player in a position that we are desperate for.

You must admit that going in to the season with no fullbacks doesn't exactly give us a strong hand when it comes to negotiating?

As I said I will be happy with walker and mendy, plus a.n other up and coming fullback. If Txiki achieves that, then I would say job done - no gold star - but not bad either.

Your just having a go at anyone who dare criticise or discuss his efforts to date.
