It's Quiet - a new dawn

Just been to the city store to pick up some bits for the grandson... Saw our surprise CB signing !!!
Had a drive past the academy. Couple of scallys on bikes outside the health centre. Couple of people with security at the players entrance. Other than that all quiet.

Looks like that started off in Liverpool, there are no fucking hubcaps on it. :-)

For Fuck's sake, it's not even funny any more...

We've been hearing for months that the aim was to get people in before the tour, and it looks incredibly likely that 4 of our 5 priority signings will be on the plane. If a close friend of Guardiola's hadn't broken his personal agreement then we'd have 5/7 targets done and dusted.

Please tell us more about how he's not doing his fucking job.

And remember to compare him to:

Woodward (broke the world record for a second choice after Mourinho briefed the press about how unhappy he was),

Chelsea (signed fucking no one and Conte leaking tot he press he might quit)

Liverpool (Signed 1 decent winger, got reported for tapping up and have failed to get their other target from Leipzig)

Spurs - who have signed no one despite Rose going on the radio saying they needed a statement signing.

Not doing his job...

I estimate 4 maybe 5 posts of calling starving out on his shit and you'll be in the illustrious group of myself and @Pablo1 (:

Transfers between the Top 6 in recent years (since 2011) -

City
2017 - Sanchez(?)
2017 - Walker
2015 - Sterling
2014 - Sagna
2011 - Clichy
2011 - Nasri

United
2014 - Mata
2012 - RVP

Chelsea
---

Arsenal
2015 - Cech
2014 - Welbeck

Spurs
2013 - Adebayor

Liverpool
2012 - Sturridge

If we land Sanchez, we'll have bought as many players from the Top 6 as the other 5 combined. And apart from RVP going to United, none of the others have bought players the other clubs have wanted to hold onto, it's all players who have fallen out of favour.

Conversely I think only Clichy was the only player we bought who the selling club didn't try to keep - and frankly that was poor judgement because Clichy at his worst is still better than Gibbs.

I don't know what this means - do the others go for players at rival clubs or are they deemed poor value? Is this a sign we're capable of bullying the rest of the top 6, or just willing to pay the asking price?

If we do get mendy and walker in we'll all sleep better over the alves shit. Add sanchez and yikes Mbappe its the stuff of dreams

However.

We still need a thug. No chance of Vidal but we need that type of player,If only to protect these kids.
I'd take the guy from Roma (still can't spell his name) in a heartbeat.
Could try for busquets lol.

We've just bought one (a thug), walker is no shrinking violet and will provide much needed steel.... the inverted fullback system with Mendy and walker will be like a Mcalpine home compared to the clichy/sagna/zaba, Barrett equivalent!

Id argue Sterling wasn't out of favour.

Yeah sorry I clarified, none of ours were out of favour. Clichy started 33 league games in the season before we bought him, Sagna 35, Nasri was Wenger's Fabregas replacement who he was loathe to sell (lol), Sterling was the boy wonder and Walker was Spurs first choice RB by a country mile, playing 6x as much league football as Trippier.

We are the only club in the top 6 who buys starters from the top 6. Although to be fair 4/6 would be from Arsenal.

I don't know if it's a good thing or not - I guess it's a good thing we can if we want.

Arsenal had let Sagna's contract expire, no? Pretty sure they intended on replacing him.

Obviously delivered to the wrong ground. TV money means they can upgrade on buses.
