Doesn't bringing back Maffeo & letting Danilo go srill leave us a specialist LB short? Unless you're saying Delph & Zinchenko as tge 2nd & back up LB's...Bring in Fred and Mahrez for £100m. Bring in Maffeo, ship out Danilo who probably wants to leave anyway and that’s that.
Mahrez not going to World Cup which is another major plus for us.

I can't see how anyone can lobby for Danilo at LB next season. He has been dire on that side (which is to be expected perhaps).I've put this in one of the player threads but I see us needing a senior squad with the following:
GK x 2
FB x 4
CB x 4
DM x 2
CM x 4
FWD x 5
+ defensive utility + attacking utility = 23 man squad leaving enough room for kids to get game time.
In the summer, I hope we aim for:
Ederson, Gunn
Walker, Maffeo, Mendy, Danilo
Laporte, Otamendi, Stones, Kompany
Fernandinho, ???
De Bruyne, Silva, Gundogan, Bernardo
Aguero, Jesus, Sterling, Sane, ???
+ Delph + Zinchenko
Having Gunn as back up GK allows the new signings (???) to take up non-homegrown slots.
I'd be very happy with quick deals for Fred and Mahrez, then sit back and enjoy the world cup and the drastic price inflation that follows.

If I were being honest my 2 would be Werner and FDJ. I like that Werner can play across the front 3, and has Pace for days, and FDJ has that innate class.Werner could be a good buy
But I suspect it will be Fred and Mahrez. Which is okay too.

That about sums it up for me too. He’s cheap and is at about the same level as Sterling so the rotation between Raz / Sane / Mahrez seems pretty even which is a good thing.
Would prefer a young player but none have sparkled enough to excite me this year like Jesus and especially mbappe. Haven’t looked into kluivert but some ppl seem to really rate him.
