It's Quiet the £250m return

The short answer is no they haven't.

Kerkez / Frimpong are not upgrades on their previous players. Kerkez looks a liability tbh.

Wirtz replaces the creativity of TAA but at a structural / tactical cost.

They've lost Dias, Jota, Nunez and signed Ekitike and potentially Isak. But neither of those lads are going to play on either wing.

Guehi is another overrated English player who is pretty well protected in the Palace back 5. He's shit in the air but decent on the ball.

VVD isn't going to get better, he's going to get worse. Konate has started the season like he's Mangala's little brother.

The fluffing of Liverpool is all down the noise around Isak and the early signing of Wirtz. But overall if you listen to their own supporters, they aren't happy. Isak isn't anywhere near enough to cover their weak spots.
Early days but we may well see the decline in Salah numbers this season, partly age, partly how they decide to play with Wirtz, Ekitike and Isak?

Just had a text from my late dad’s best mate who is the brother of Bobby Manzi the Palace journalist? Apparently we have made a push for Wharton!

Thought it was bullshit but it’s now coming out that Chelsea are going to try, it's a difficult deal before deadline day but there's been no ruling it out from Palace. If that's the case I can see why we’ve asked.

While I think Liverpool won't be better than last season, it's too early to tell whether the new signings improve them or not. It's mostly guess work at this stage.

Worry is they’ve won both games and can clearly improve. Isak and Guehi make them significantly better than they are and add depth. They have belief as well in their squad I think we’ve lost ours

Guehi and Isak don't improve them in the areas they need to improve IMO.

In terms of belief and the intangibles, I try not to get too in the weeds with stuff like that. Our squad is incredible in terms of its depth and quality. One of the best in Europe easily. We have the best manager in the world. The league is going to be a real battle but I think we'll be there or thereabouts.

I think without a proper rb it’s hard to claim we have great depth. Even if we are saying Rico is a rb he’s not a great one. I’m not sure where Liverpool remain weak but it’s all about opinions. Diaz and Jota will be missed in Terms of goals and they tended to show up in big games but if Stones gets injured our defence is not the same and that is a concern especially if Pep doesn’t trust Khusanov.

Think Nunes is now a right back ,great one maybe not, but in my opinion a better one than Frimpong.

We only dropped 2 points in our opening 5 last year, won our first three.

It’s early days, the truth of their first three games this season is that they deservedly lost the community shield game, and didn’t deserve to win the first two prem games and their defence looks much worse.

Let’s see. I know we have the quality to compete.

I agree with this. Our squad is wonderfully talented. It may take Pep 3-4 months or a whole season to have it challenging for the biggest trophies. But I'm quite optimistic.

Other than Hakimi, if we are seeking Walker's athleticism with the ability to join the midfield effectively, I suspect we will be very disappointed with any new RB within a matter of weeks.
Reverting to a flat back four is not going to happen until we change manager. I am of the belief that Lewis and Nunes are as good as anyone out there in terms of what we are looking for, or indeed NOT looking for.

I am with @BillyShears that we have nobody to fear in this league. It is such early days with such a young squad, but our talent level is off the charts.

Always love your positivity, it’s a breath of fresh air on here..

Never been sold on them even last season... They were best in a poor league last year helped with the city dropping off a cliff & arsenal being arsenal

I'd still take Livramento over the 2 but he just isn't available this year, may be others I don't know that we don't have room for so barring that happy to stick with Nunes/ Lewis

No issue with any of that. The other issues Liverpool have are their midfield balance adding bringing in Wirtz and a huge reliance on Gravenberch. Any injury to him will cause them serious problems.

I actually think that Liverpool’s mega spending is allowing Arsenal to slip under the radar. They’ve bought 7 players (with Hincapie potentially no. 8) and covered where they were short last season. I think Arsenal are the team to beat. If Arteta doesn’t win either the league or Champions League this season he never will.

100% Arsenal have lowkey won the transfer window and addressed loads of their own issues. I've found the rush to anoint the scousers as champions hilarious from the media, and a bit disappointing on here.

Yeah, if they don't win it this year then Arteta will be out imo.
Very strong squad

I agree that our right back options aren't the best, but everywhere else, including CB, I feel like we're well well stocked.
