He's two years on his contract ,circa 15m, think City would be just glad to get him off the books or a nominal fee.Nobody is paying £20m for Phillips, will be lucky to get half that

So you agreedMaybe not all will be sales but there will have to be quite a number leaving (possibly quite a few on loan). Otherwise we're going to have a number of unhappy players not getting minutes.
Take CBs for example. We currently have Dias, Gvardiol, Akanji, Ake, Stones, Reis, Khusanov with Bah and Doyle returning from loans. It's just too many and at least 3 or 4 will have to leave on loan or be sold.

Stones has been at City for 7 seasons and only completed 50% of PL games which is a shocking figure. I accept that he`s also played in cup competitions but we can`t carry on carrying players like this.I think Nunes, Bernardo and Stones will all stay another season.
By the way I love the lad but I `m not certain he will be kept and may end up going if we give him a decent package to bring in someone who will not be a physios constant friend on the table.

It helps in here if you accept that the club simply can't win with a significant minority of posters, nor can they be satisfied. We could sign Wirtz, Mbappe, Rice and Bellingham and then they'll complain that there's no route for youth players.
I guess it all depends on the 6 leaving. We don't need to replace mcatee or Phillips. Ortega would be a low level signing. The rest need replaced if they left. So guaranteed 2 players for kdb and walker. If ederson goes then 3. Grealish is 4. Then for me gundo should be moved on so 5. Would 5 signings equal 250M? Its possible. Well possibly 6 if 2 keepers are required.I don't know who exactly is leaving - not even club will know this at this stage - but I'd say the following have a chance to move on:

From those nine I reckon we'll see around six leave. If that's correct I'd say we need to bring in four players to have the right balanced, small squad pep wants. We might also promote one or two from our academy.

I already said we don't need to replace mcatee and Phillips. So remove Phillips, mcatee was always a spare piece so you can include him in the 1 in 1 out. We need homegrown and a right back so we are replacing walker regardless. A midfielder is being signed and will take kdbs spot in the squad. Grealish has to go. If the keepers both go then there's 4 players already gone above and beyond the 3 you mentioned. Ake or stones should go too. There's 5 gone +Phillips, walker, kdb. Gundo should go too. But let's just say it's mcatee, grealish, ederson, kdb, walker that leave. We sign livramento, mgw, Reijnders and a keeper. That's 1 in 1 out. Ederson replaced, kdb replaced with foreign slots and walker and grealish replaced with homegrown. Now move on gundo like I stated and there's another incoming, maybe a rodrygo. Of course Reis will most likely be loaned and I'd also sell one of ake and Stones and keep khusanov. Just realised both ake and stones are homegrown. To add in 3 seasons at Everton he amassed 71 PL games. 33 in the season before we bought him he’s got nowhere near that figure since he’s been with us. Can only include McAtee if you replace him as club trained, and we have room there anyway. We either need two spots for Echeverri and Reis, or they are moved out on loan, until that happens it isn’t one out one in, other than any of the 4 in the homegrown list.I already said we don't need to replace mcatee and Phillips.
