It's Quiet the £250m return

I've been a season ticket holder since 1992. Home and away until 2015 when the kids came along.

Tchouaméni aside, who out of that list don't have the characteristics or aren't what we need?

We need 2 full backs and we need some pace and creativity. Tchouaméni aside, everyone else on that list is exactly what we need.

Did I say they were realistic? No. Did I say I think we'd go for them? No.
I'm with you but the club don't seem to be interested in signing top quality players anymore

The fact liverpool are gonna sign 2 of your list shows its not unrealistic

It is what it is mate. It just shows how far our standards have dropped when Nunes is being talked about being our right back for next season and Gibbs-White being good enough to replace De Bruyne.

We're linked with Rodrygo, Arsenal are rumoured to be interested in Leao, we've been linked Hernandez in the past and there's a thread on Cherki on here about how fucking amazing he is.

The only player that is probably unrealistic is Tchouaméni but again, we were rumoured to be linked with him last summer/January. And he's probably not what we need

We know we are getting:

Reignders - 60m
MGW - 70m
Thats about 130m if those prices are right

so 120m for 2 fullbacks and a keeper or two

Not a great rebuild for a team running on fumes, losing its best ever player and still relying and aging players in midfield.
Unless Ederson definitely wants out Id keep him - saves us money to strengthen other areas where it is certainly needed.
We know nothing. It’s all speculation

So apart from the statement signing, when have we ever made a statement signing?

You like to big liverpool up and talk City down.
Apart from the ONLY statement signing we've made under Pep.

I've not said anything about Liverpool apart from their transfer business so far is beyond anything we've done for Guardiola. They're giving their manager exactly what he wants and not expecting him to perform miracles like we do with ours.

I wish I was wrong but no other manager in the world would be forced to make do with Nunes at right back.

Not much between him and your choice of FB Frimpong. Both good going forward but suspect defensively.

How many bonafide world class footballers are available at any one time?

You’re on about signing players who are regarded as the best in their position, if Haaland is your measuring stick, then we’re looking at 1-2 players at most per position you could call world class.

That’s 22 players, we’ve had 3 of them in Haaland, Kev and Rodri.

Who do you want us to out and buy out of the remaining 19 in the past 4/5 years.

Mbappe, Salah, VVD, Yamal?

You can’t buy world class players very often, they’re almost always already at big clubs.

This club makes world class footballers and so does every other club, bar Madrid.
You're right, you can't buy them very often which is why we should be breaking the bank for the one that currently is available who will replace arguably our greatest ever player. Yet we're giving Liverpool a free run at him.

We don't necessarily need world class players but we need players who will improve our starting 11. Gibbs-White isn't better than what we currently have yet he's going to cost us £80m minimum

We tried for him, as did Bayern. He chose Liverpool.

Frimpong has more goals and assists than Nunes & Doku. Plus he'd be classed as home grown for the CL. For less than £30m, it's a no brainer to me.

Tchou and Cherki can get in the bin. We don't need either player. Hernandez is 27 and nowhere near the player he's hyped to be. Hence he's spent the best part of his career in Milan and not in the PL. Wirtz has chosen LFC over City. Get over it. Frimpong isn't better than Nunes, never mind being good enough to be our first choice RB.

Hope that helps clear up why your post came off as childish. Also, anyone that talks about marquee signings, or world class footballers, without acknowledging we create rather than buying them, doesn't understand how City are run.

Gibbs-White is better than what we currently have. What we currently have is an over the hill Gundogan and a Phil Foden severely lacking in confidence and form.

MGW is one of the best 10’s in the league. He’s not Kev, and neither is Wirtz.

Big risk signing a 22 year old and making him one of your highest earners, and spending £130m, half your rebuild budget on one player.

He’s had 2 good years in an inferior league and a lot of good PR, £130m and £400k a week wages should be reserved for signing the best of the best players in the world.

Clubs doing the right thing. Like with Kane/ Haaland, who knows who becomes available next summer.

Played more too no doubt and in a weaker league. Nunes is just getting used to the role. Out of the 2, I'd probably prefer Nunes, though neither are ideal as they are both weak defensively.

So because my opinion differs from yours, you call me childish?

I must have dreamt us signing Haaland, the very definition of a marquee signing.

And you're entitled to your opinion of Nunes being better than Frimpong. I can only assume you haven't watched us this season.

You could even see on the bench the staff and Ortega weren't having it and were laughing?

Personally, similar to Walker, I think he has felt unappreciated at not being recognised as a superstar like some of our other players?
It was more likely because we were out of subs (we used all three windows).

If I recall correctly, Ederson has had this groin injury all season. For me he’s one of the few that heeded the “I need my warriors” call from Pep, while a few others hid when the team was floundering.

Like I posted before, that list of players is terrible in terms of being so far away from what City need it is barely credible. You can move on now because I can see there's a million other people you want to discuss your opinions with ;)

I'm glad you've felt the need to share your opinions with me. I feel honoured that a johnny come lately, who doesn't go to watch City, feels so strongly about my views.

All the best Ahsan

It's all about opinions. Liverpool feel like he's good enough for them on the back of winning the league.

In my opinion, MGW is no better than Grealish as a 10.

We need to make signings, desperately. MGW isn't the one for me. In my opinion
